I bought this laptop as a Christmas gift for my hsuband to replace an older HP laptop. He loves it! He keeps commenting about how fast his new computer is compared to the old one. One of my concerns in buying a new laptop for him was the operating system. None of the other computers in our house run Windows 8, so I was concerned about buying a new computer with the Windows 8 operating system. I discovered that by going directly to the HP website I could still purchase a computer with Windows 7--a big benefit for him. I am very happy that he is so happy with his new laptop! Thank you HP!

Excellent Laptop

The overall flexibility and excellent speed/performance make this an ideal upgrade for my business. Extremely pleased. Using with the USB 3.0 Port Replicator, the 25" HDMI monitor, and the USB 3.0 2TB external hard drive. All are excellent. My only problem has been that I purchased the program PCMover to move both programs and files. Don't use it. Just reinstall all of your programs on your new machine and then use the File Transfer Tools built into Windows 7 and 8. PCMover was a file corrupting disaster.

The synaptics mouse pad is awful! No matter what I try, I can't get it to work properly. Unless you have a 'fix' for it, I'll end up using a real mouse, which takes the device out of the laptop description. It's also slower than what I expected, with about the same speed as my old G6 with an older processor (and a system overload!). The other problem is with Microsoft: I tried Outlook, and within a few hours, the Delete button no longer worked. I've gone back to IncrediMail, which also has problems.
