This laptop isn't a ridiculously great laptop, but for the price that was paid, it is able to handle anything that I throw at it for school work. About the only thing I have discovered that I wish was better was a longer battery life, but it is still long enough to get a couple hours of work away from a charger.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I did some research regarding the operating system for my new laptop since I had a bad experience with a new laptop with Window 8, so this one I ordered with Window 7, it is very easy to get started and easy to navigate but a lot more intuitive than Window XP. The unit in light, good battery life. A very good value for the price.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We had to purchase a new computer for my wife. Looking at the features, we thought this would be a great computer for her to use. She is used to MACs, but thought this would be a good introduction to PCs. I use a Pavilion dv6 and am happy with it, so I thought an HP Pavilion g6 would work. It did not. The specifications and configuration that we ordered are almost identical to my dv6, but the computer did not perform as it should have. The computer was slow, for no reason. Everything was optimized that we could see in the BIOS and in the configurations, but it could not handle high graphics with an INTEL i5 processor, 8-gig of RAM and a 1-gig graphics card. Programs I had no problems running on my dv6 crashed on the g6. The WLAN card broke within a few days. The computer could not find it. It kept saying there was no wireless card installed, but I could physically see it when I took the cover off of the bottom. It was seated, but could not be found. After these issues, it was easier to just return it and purchase a MAC. If you are in the market for a laptop, do NOT get a g6. Spend the money and get a higher-end laptop. It is well worth it. They are cheaper for a reason, apparently.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
