Seems very well made. Screen display is really nice. Many handy features and connectors. Very good AC adapter / connector. The one failing I've found so far is that the CD tray seems very weak. I'm almost afraid to use it. And the button doesn't usually eject it on the first try. I like the Cool Sense feature so the battery doesn't burn up your lap. Assuming this unit lasts a long time I will be very happy with the purchase.

Mouse trackpad doesn't work

This product is unusable because the mouse trackpad doesn't work. I can use it to move the mouse pointer, but it will not accept a click or double-click. I'm returning the product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Product seems fine, but, frankly, it is much too early in it's life too give a meaningful evaluation...The lack of an owner's manual is a major mistake by HP and would affect my recommending the product ...For instance, the product features an extended keyboard, but it was a time consuming exercise in futility to find out how to use the calculator keyboard...On-line or built in user help requires a lot of paging back and forth to learn something and, in my humble opinion, is a major inconvenience...

HP agents were so very kind to exchange the original laptop which had Windows 8 for the one I now have with Windows 7. They walked me right through the process and within a week I had returned the original ordered laptop and had a new one at home. I've never, never been disappointed in the service and equipment I receive from HP. The problem was Windows 8, not HP's. Thanks and keep up the great service and equipment.

Great Performance for Sensible Price

I just purchase two of the g6t's - one for my daughter who had spilled coffee on her old, beloved HP laptop, and one for myself - principally because Windows OS/7 was still offered. I'm working from an earlier version of the g6, and the new one runs rings around it - same RAM, larger HD, and about an order of magnitude quicker startup and shutdown. And the new one has a 10-key numeric pad.
The only surprise is that the keys are the "chiclet" style, rather than full stroke like a desktop keyboard. They take some getting use to, and the spacing is a bit tighter because of the extra keypad.
Overall, a very satisfactory purchase with a full complement of USB-3 and HDMI ports. Spend the extra $$ and purchase the backup CDs.
