Power unit failure

Steer clear of this model - it has a serious vulnerability in its power supply unit. Lots of users have reported failure (often just outside of warranty) and it is not possible to make an economic repair.
Consumables are REALLY expensive too.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Incredible print quality

We use it to print out price lists at our Photography Studio. It is blazing fast, and the print quality is superb. Only negative so far is the noise, oh, and the price of the ink.
Pros: Fast Operation, Compact Design, Excellent Print Quality, Reliable, Easy To Use, Easy To Setup
Cons: Noisy

You cannot turn the colorQube 8570 off, unless you won't a five minute noise warm up time. Also you need to turn of test pages from the set up, or it prints 8 on power up.
You may not be able to stop it from printing the cleaning page if you have turned the power off.

Problems for home use:
>Plan for a big electric bill to keep the wax hot in standby mode.
>Fan noise in standby mode.

I would recommend this printer only for office use.

This is my second solid ink printer - and my last
on May 2, 2014

I like the concept of the solid ink, but even in my small home office, I will spend $1000+ a year in supplies. No matter what Xerox says, when a freshly printed sheet is printed, many ball point pens will have trouble writing on it. And don't even try printing business cards and carry some in your wallet, you will end up embarrassed trying to give out a smudged card. And sheets don't hold color well when placed in the sun. The printer rarely prints without missing lines of dots. You can spend $$ of ink to clear it up, only to need to clear again before long. But if you don't really care how nice your prints look, this is the printer for you, because it is fast for the cost.

Same Results as another

I had the same results as the other guy who bought 3. Good thing I only bought 1. It's a 150 pound paper weight in the corner of my office. Anybody want to come and get it?
