This printer is great!

This printer makes beautiful, clear prints. Even photos look pretty good. The networking was smooth and simple. Provided it isn't powered off, the solid ink doesn't take long to get ready to print. After dealing with toner, solid ink is a pure joy, and I even feel environmentally responsible.

Trully an Outstanding Printer

I ordered this Xerox printer when my old HP kicked the bucket. I was really looking for a quality printer that could handle the day-to-day prints and be able to handle printing on cardstock. It does both... and fast! It's literally a "plug and play" printer and I was able to connect it to my network of computers and resume my work. The printer handles the cardstock nicely and the print is just a work of art... almost like having a mini thermographer right at my side. Thank you!

Works as advertised and has gorgeous output on any paper

Hooked this one up as a network printer to our wireles router. All computers in our home can use it. Getting the printer up and running on my home network was a quick and easy with no problems at all. Now the real test for us in our home use environment, will be whether inttermittent and sometimes infrequent use results in the print engine somehow plugging-up as inkjets will do with similar infrequent use. I say this because the output is a good as photo inkjet printers. So far, I just love it. I particularly like that the Ink Blocks that this printer uses are less expensive and certainly less wasteful than laser toner cartridges.

Robut and Reliable

We've been using Xerox solid-ink printers since the early 540 Phasers and have found them to be a robust, reliable and economical means of quality color printing. Less moving mechanical parts, means less mechanical problems on average and this is why we standardized our organization on solid-ink technology rather than laser/toner solutions. Our sales and service team has been wonderful in accessing our needs and standing by with great service/ support whenever that became necessary. For these reasons and more, we will continue to use Xerox solid-ink color printers for the foreseeable future

Works good, when it works

We have purchase two of the 8570 ColorCubes, and have had bad luck with both. The first one squeeked and grinded out of the box, but being the first one of this model, I didn't know it shouldn't do this, until the print quality went south. After a number of phone calls, we ended up getting a replacement, which is working fine. The second one worked for a week before experiencing a major power failure. Then, we were down for a week waiting on parts. The print quality is very good, so I hope we do not have any more issues.

Energy efficient, robust color printer for small printing businesses

I like the versatility of being able to use one printer for medium volume productivity (300 - 400 page jobs) and fussy individual office tasks like business letters, photographs, checks, labels, etc. . . I especially like the feeder mechanism on tray-1. This is my third solid-ink printer from XEROX, but this is the first one that works flawlessly.

ColorQube in review

This ColorQube 8570 is the second solid ink printer I have had, I like the clarity of the print, and the lack of toner waste. The Colors are clear and do not smudge, I have had no problem with prints left in the car or hot environments. I like the easy to use nature of the solid ink and you don't get it all over you when you clean it install. The actual print process is quick and responsive, the only down side is that the warm up from power save is a bit longer than I would like. While this product is still new in our environment, so far we have been very happy.

Print quality is awesome! however, the machine is noisy and takes a long time to warm-up from energy-saving mode to print mode.

Thank you for your review, downdog - I'm glad to hear you are impressed with the print quality of your ColorQube 8570.
Based on customer feedback, we recently released a firmware update for the ColorQube 8570/8870 that includes Sound Reduction mode, lowering the sound generated during the printing process. The firmware update is available for download through this link: http://xrx.sm/Bh0, and details about the update can be found here: http://xrx.sm/Bhz.
In regards to your warm-up concerns, your device may be set to warm up when you first print. We have solutions that include the option to have it warm up at a set time, or through our patented Intelligent Ready power management feature, which "learns" your unique print usage patterns. Here is a short link with more details and directions for administering warm up settings: http://xrx.sm/Biy.
I hope these help improve your experience with the ColorQube 8570.
