Too much hype

It makes horrifying noise when picking up paper from the tray as if it is being strangled. The document printing is not continuous. It prints one page at a time- pauses for couple of seconds between pages. Excellent color printing, much better than ink catridge printers
Pros: Excellent Print Quality, Easy To Setup, Easy To Use
Cons: Pricey Replacement Ink, Slow Operation, Jams Easily, Large Footprint

We use the printer lightly, but it gobbles "ink," the crayon-like colors, which look as if they should cost about $10 for three but actually cost $136. It's slow to start and don't ever shut it down. And if you want a quality print, be sure to put it on "enhanced," which (you guessed it) uses more "ink."
Cons: Pricey Replacement Ink

works well. These printers are the ultimate alternative to inkjet printers. The printer lasts forever, the images don't fade, and the price per page is much more affordable.
Pros: Excellent Print Quality, Easy To Setup, Fast Operation, Easy To Use

Ok for average printing, but NOT good for quality stuff

We have been very disappointed in this printer. I am like another reviewer: The gray shades are just not there! And don't tell me I don't have pictures with gray shades, I am a professional. I DO! Also, the ink breaks and powders on the brochures when they are folded. By the time they get to the recipient, they are a total mess. Pictures of things that should be smooth, like skin, or sky, or the paint on a car turn out splotchy! A beautiful model looked like she had very bad acne! NOT GOOD! Like I said in my headline, if you're printing a spreadsheet or a letter, it'll do the job, but don't expect it to do anything else.

Designed by the marketing department

I bought this as a replacement for my Xerox 8550 printer that finally failed after many years. Of course Xerox's marketing department makes sure that no two printers can use the same ink. So I had to sell my old cubes and buy new ones. Since the ink is so expensive, I was used to buying genuine xerox ink from various suppliers on the internet. So with the 8570 too, I bought what was advertised as genuine xerox ink with the holograph, etc but apparently for the international market. Unfortunately, I find that even though everything looks good, and fits into the slot, there must be some other sensor that stops the printer from accepting it. Get ready to have your supplies scrutinized and rejected so you will be forced to buy ink from only the most expensive source.
