The Inspirion 15R is a great laptop. I enjoy using. But navigating with Windows 8 is clunky.
Pros: home photos, kids school projects, shopping on internet

Hello JangoFett,
I am glad that you really like the new Inspirion 15R. Also, Windows 8 is a bit of a learning curve for everyone. However, once you get the hang of it, it's very easy to use.
The link below will give you some information on the basic usage of Windows 8.

IT IS ALL I WANTED FOR USE AT HOME AS I CAN TAKE ANY PLACE IN THE HOUSE WITH WII FI.THE ONLY PROBLEM IS LEARNING WINDOWS 8.IT IS A LITTLE MORE DIFFICULT TO USE,BUT I AM GETTING THERE.I SHOULD HAVE HAD ALREADY.THANKS AGAIN.HAVEN'T USED THE CAMERA YET,BUT I WILL.
The new Dell 15R with Windows 8 and the new Intel processor is very quick & snappy. Can get a lot done in a very short time. Great laptop for business or personal use.
Pros: Travel, word processing, quickbooks
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great laptop for its value

I bought the 15R as a laptop for my dorm. I wasn't looking for anything special with the strong Dell desktop that I already owned so I bought this for its value, decent specifications, and its good reviews. This is my first laptop (being a desktop person) and I actually enjoy using it! The design is slick and sturdy, but an issue I have is the power button feeling kind of spongy - I fear it will break over time. Another issue is that the speakers are small and located on the bottom side of the laptop, so make sure they're uncovered when in use. The Intel i5 turbo boost is great on the battery life - using more of the processor when needed.
Pros: great value, nice design
Cons: power button spongy, small speakers on the bottom front side
Meets most standard demands, hardware is upto date.

Verified Purchase:Yes
Bought to hook up pc based scan tool for automotive needs as I am a mechanic, and its works very well. Do everything from facebook to watching movies and banking no complaints. HDMI is very nice since I sometimes use 32inch lg flatscreen as monitor.
