I bought this plasma 3D television a few weeks ago and can honestly say this is an amazing TV ! If you are looking for a reasonably priced 3D TV that has an incredible picture I recommend you stop looking and buy this TV ! This is my 5th Samsung !
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight

I upgraded from the 530 to the 550 and I could not be happier. This tv has all the hdmi's and usb ports you could want. The design is great with the glass around the bezel, and glass for the neck of the base. The picture is perfect right out of the box, and that is hard to find in a plasma tv. The menu has every option you could want, and you can buy a dangle to get updates through wifi. Now for the best part for a tv at this price is the full 3d, and 2d to 3d. I have seen 3d at the theatres and on another tv's and I am impressed with how beautiful and deep the 3d is on this tv. If you are looking to buy a large screen plasma that is great looking and has 3d don't pass this up because it's worth more than what you are paying for it. Also to let you know I decided not to buy a Samsung again after my expierence with the 530, and the 550 is the tv that converted me to become a loyal fan of Samsung.

Very Nice plasma

A very nice TV. Thin and compact. Just make sure you do have a darker room to display it in. It really is better for darker rooms. Also there is some glare on the tv due to the glass design. But just make sure you don't have any lamps or lights or windows that will reflect off of the TV. I watch more tv at night then in the day and I have it in my living room and it is a little on the dark side but just close your windows so that you don't let in too much light. A great tv. Just really crisp and sharp picture. Speakers aren't too bad if you are just using them for what they are really for, voice only. Get a surround sound system if you want depth in your sound.

I have been searching for months for a new TV. I had a 42" Sanyo LCD that went bad, so I started to look at new ones. I found and bought a 42" LG LCD and as I was unloading it from my car, I was robbed, he took the new TV and my car. So a month later I started checking out new TV's again and decided I wanted a bigger one, I was going to go with a 46" but bought a 51". I had always heard that LCD and LED were better than a plasma. Well, I had 4 salespeople tell me that the NEW Plasma TVs were much better than the LCD and LED and the technology of the new plasma was better than the older ones. The salesperson showed me a demonstration between the three and I must say, the new plasma sold me. There was much less blur on fast action on the plasma. So as I started to check out the plasmas in the store, I found this 51" Samsung, it had a great picture, it was 2D and 3D, plus other features that I liked. It was a good price so I bought it. I have only had it for 6 days but I LOVE the picture. It is so clear and sharp. I am very pleased that I went with this TV and also glad I went up to the 51".

Great TV for the $. (shop around online and you can find it for under the MRSP) If you have a brightly lit room you may want to look around for another model as this screen does have a decent amount of glare, but if you can dim the room well or don't have a lot of light it's fantastic.

Even though it runs hotter than an LED the picture quality and refresh rate makes up for that, I recommend not mounting on walls. #-D picture is amazing and the kids love it the best
