I've only had mine for a few days but everyone in the house is loving it. Setting it up was fast and unbelievably simple (not a single issue getting it to connect to my secure, non-broadcasting wireless). The quality of HD broadcasts is excellent, and the stream caching seems much faster than watching the same movie on my laptop. Definitely two thumbs up. I've already told friends and family to go out and get one.
Pros: High quality picture, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use, Compact, Easy to set up, Great value
Cons: Needs more settings

So Far So Good

Streaming has been without problems. Would like more choices of movies of all categories. Using a Linksy E3000 wireliess router from my office to the Roku XD in the living room(40 feet). Linksy tech setup folks were great! They got my router and netflix going without a hitch. Originally purchased a D-Link high end wireless router for my Roku/Netflix streaming, but had to return it as it was not configuring well with my AT&T DSL and Speedstream Modem. Picture quality for HD1080 has been good as well as sound quality. Have had no rebuffering of streaming. Can't beat the subscription price from Netflix. Am having some problem signing up for some other Roku offered streaming such as Raterix.
Pros: Compact, Easy to use, High quality picture, Great value
Cons: Want more video choices

Great way to cut the cable

We purchased the Roku XD to go with our main TV in the living room and be able to play back Netflix movies. It's really worked out great alongside a home theater PC that plays back all of our local content and ripped DVDs. It is super fast and Netflix content looks great on our 32" TV. Most sure how it would look on a larger set, but we are very happy. Just signed up for Hulu Plus and that is the last component we were missing so we can get rid of cable. Being able to watch all of our favorite shows and having Netflix for movies and kids is working out great...I can't think of the last time we turned on the cable box. If only the Roku could play back our local media. There are a couple of channels that look like they could, but the formats aren't compatible. Guess it would be asking for the Holy Grail to to have everything in one unit.

I miss the component connection that my older Roku XR has. The TV I was going to use the XD player on has all it's HDMI sockets filled by other toys so I had to leave the old player on my main set and put the new one on my little dining room 23 inch flat screen. I guess I am just getting old but I hate to see legacy ports disappear. Also I have yet to see 1080P resolution with either player even when they are connected by ethernet cable to my Time Warner cable modem, and connected to the TV with HDMI cables. But the 720P I do get looks pretty good on my 1080P TVs

Cons: Needs an N router

I use this in my bedroom. My partner and I like to watch Netflix late at night before bed. We are debating whether or not to cancel the cable subscription and use only the Netflix, because the cable is so expensive. I just wish there were more streaming choices right now.

Connected to our main living room TV. Very, very easy to connect and use. Best product I ever bought. I would recommend it to everyone who likes to watch movies or TV you want to see and there are several music choices to make it even better. A great all-in-on entertainment value. You can reduce your cable bill or tell cable good bye and just use this.

Took a little longer to install than advertised but it works very well. Operation is easy and the free streaming video from Netflix is absolutely great. I have had zero problems with the device or Netflix service. It works so well that I wish Netflix would do away with DVD's and just stream everything.
