poor Product AND CUST LACK OF SERVICE

i JUST SPENT ONE AND ONE HOURS WITH WHAT ROKU CALLS CUSTOMER SUPPORT. AFTER TELLING THEM ALL THE TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS THAT I HAD PERFORMED; TESTING THE HDMI CABLE WITH ONE I KNEW WAS GOOD, RESETTING THE DEVICE POWERING DOWN THE DEVICE,FIRST ON CHAT THEN ON THE TELEPHONE THESE NONE ENGLISH PEAKING SUPPORT PEOPLE MADE ME GO THROUGH EVERYTHING I HAD ALREADY DONE TO TELL ME THE HDMI PORT ON THE BOX WAS FAULTY, duh! THEN I HAVE TO SEND THE BOX BACK [...] AND A PACKAGE TO SHIP IN AND THEY WILL SEND ME A REPLACEMENT... NO DOUBT A REBUILT PIECE OF [*]...NO WAY TO CONTACT THE COMPANY DIRECTLY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. POOR DEVICE FOR STREAMING NETFLIX. BUY SOMETHING ELSE!
Pros: Small Size
Cons: Want more video choices, Inconsistent performance, Need fast internet service, Poor Customer Service

Would not Work

I couldn't hook up my roku at all to my home network. I managed to once and the connection kept dropping so it was un-usable. I emailed tech support and they just refereed me cryptically to call a number about wanting a return. I have yet to call the number, as I am moving soon and hope the roku will identify better with the new router. If not, I will be giving that number a call.
Cons: Inconsistent performance, Difficult to set up, Cryptic tech support, Wouldnt connect to LAN

Save your money & dont expect support

Worked great for 3 months. I loved the little box. Stopped streaming, locked up, dropped movies. I have great internet speed. Roku customer help is no help and sends me off with their latest "guess". Also, help hours are not convenient which actually is a good thing because it limits the frustrating conversations which basically go in a big circle. Before you purchase, go to the forum and read the posts. I wish I would have done so and saved the [$]to put towards Apple TV.
Pros: Works great for 3 months
Cons: Doesnt work

Erratic Performance

Used it for a 2nd TV. This unit is very inconsistent with the internet connection. The first unit (original design) I bought a year ago, seem to work fine, and is in the same network. This unit have not been able to remain connected to the internet more than a day, many times it dropped out after a few hours regardless of the connection use, wireless or Ethernet, and the only fix has been to rebooting the DSL modem, a solution supplied by the Roku service person. I am so frustrated with it that I just turned it off, and will have to decide what to do with it.
Pros: Built in Wi-Fi, Compact, Easy to use, Easy to set up
Cons: Inconsistent performance

I purchased this product to stream Canadian Netflix from my tv. Netflix has been available in Canada for a few months now. You can stream it from multiple devices, including Wii, PS3, and Xbox360. I find it incredibly hard to believe that a Roku (which is designed to stream Netflix) could be behind the times on this issue. It is ridiculous that this product has NO disclaimer on the box saying that it is unavailable for playback in Canada.

Don't plan on getting any 1080p on this!

Upgraded from an older Roku so I could get 1080 and found that although the Roku and TV are setup and capable there isn't any 1080 content that i could find on Netflix or Hulu Plus. So I upgraded for nothing.
Cons: No 1080p shows

I could not use the HDMI cable at all

I sent back the HD player and purchased the XD player hoping to get Netflix HD when availabl. Also purchased the HDMI cable for better quality. That cable could not pull in a consistant signal and Ruco did not make a fix. It is very frustrating,
