Love the instant queue on the player, I don't need to go to the computer anymore for my list to make. Netflix is the only reason I got it. The player does get warm, but they made plenty of space for ventilation. Just wish it had an off and on button, and a volume control. I like it, and hope they consider those things I mentioned when releasing a newer model. XD model is my choice. Thanks Roku!
Pros: Video selection, Compact, Reliability, Easy to set up, Great value, High quality picture, Easy to use, Built in Wi-Fi
Cons: No volume button, No power off button

We use with second TV, in the bedroom and were not looking for a DVD/Network player in one. This is a terrific, inexpensive product under those circumstances. Do not compare with blu-ray players with newtworking built-in.
Pros: Easy to set up, Built in Wi-Fi, High quality picture, Great value, Compact, Easy to use

Welcome to the Future!

Finally, a way to cut the cord from your cable or satellite provider. Watch what you want, when you want to watch it! Tired of sending $200 a month to the cable company for internet, television and phone, we looked for another option. At under $100, how could we NOT try it? While we've instantly grown quite fond of our Roku player, there are a few drawbacks- Aside from Netflix, there aren't many options. You can purchase content from Amazon Video on Demand, but that's going to quickly add up and exceed the cable cost! On the way is Hulu Plus. For ten bucks a month, you'll have more content. (Ideally we'd be able to access standard Hulu, but I don't see any mention of this any time soon.) All in all, I think that streaming content is the future of home entertainment. With new technology very well known for the associated price, it's refreshing to see the Roku line starting at $59.95. The only major issue we've had in the week we've been using our Roku was today, when the Netflix interface seemed to crash. It's been down for about 45 minutes now. No clue whether this is a Netflix error or a Roku error. But with so few other video options, this is a major "strike one" during our 30 day risk-free trial.
Pros: Easy to set up, Great value, Built in Wi-Fi, High quality picture, Compact, Easy to use
Cons: Want more video choices

Good equipment to supplement a move away from paying a cable provider and watching mind numbing commercials. Channel selection has its cornerstones..Pandora and Netflix, and the other channels are neatish but not awesome. I use an HD anteanna and Roku to get my content. I will say the Roku was better than the little computer I bought as an HTPC. Its interface is more streamlined, but it is not as robust as an HTPC. Overall, pretty cool.
Pros: Easy to use, Built in Wi-Fi, High quality picture, Great value, Compact
Cons: Difficult to set up, Want more video choices, Need fast internet service

Great value for the Netflix and TWiT channels alone. Looking forward to more big name channel subscriptions available. Need a better PC media to TV streamer. Gabby channel does incredible things, but a more polished app would be nice. SiriusXM need to step up and make an official channel.
Pros: High quality picture, Netlix app is awesome, Easy to set up, Easy to use, Built in Wi-Fi, Twit Channel is great
Cons: More mature gabby channel

Pros: Easy to use, Reliability, Easy to set up, High quality picture, Built in Wi-Fi, Great value, Pandora, Video selection, Netflix HD streaming, Compact
Cons: Regular Hulu Support
