Not what I was hoping

I thought that I would be able to stream ALL Netflix titles, not Watch Instantly. Boy, was I sorely disappointed to find out that the only benefit was being able to watch stuff on my significantly larger TV. I don't stream movies enough for this to be the type of machine that I would really enjoy, but am more interested in watching innovative TV shows via Netflix and the internet. I am keeping it for the aforementioned benefit of now having thousands of movies to watch on movie night.
Pros: Easy to use, Easy to set up, Compact, Built in Wi-Fi
Cons: Inconsistent performance, Want more video choices

No Closed Captions on programs. Makes it virtually useless for hearing impaired individuals like me.

I watch netflix movies on the roku each night and love the fact that I don't have to worry about a DVD being scratched, and don't have to watch previews. It is nice to be able to surf through a bunch of titles at once and choose based on my mood what to watch.
Pros: Great value, Compact, Easy to use
Cons: Inconsistent performance, Difficult to set up, Want more video choices

We use the Roku almost every day and find the Netflix interface to work well, once we queue up movies on the computer. I have only had 3 issues with the XD that I bought. 1. Pandora sound quality is not even FM radio quality. Some songs seem to attenuate at certain frequencies even when plugged into an external stereo. 2. MSNBC shows like Countdown and Rachel Maddow always stop at 27 minutes even though they are 50 minute shows. 3. When configuring the box for my TV, I have to select SD. When I select HD, the box claims that it can't make connect to the internet. I need to update the firmware and try this again.

Terrific addition to entertainment for movie buff. Easy setup/use. With HDMI to TV and composite to receiver it is great addition to home theater center. Controller could use a more efficient pause/FF/Reverse function, but even this is not a negative.

control to small, slow

I have a older model and it is faster and the control, remote is bigger for easy use. Netflix is great, amazon on demand is great, but Hulu is not easy to use and is limited on tv shows.
Pros: Compact, Easy to set up, High quality picture, Great value

I very much enjoy Netflix and the growing list of media being added to the RoKu Box. If I have a negative comment it would be the limited selection of quality films (newer) and the lack of Sports programming, specifically College and Professional Football, which is the most popular sport in the U.S.
