Great bang for the buck! Roku is smaller than I expected and easy to slip into an inconspicuous spot. Setup was easy, quickly found my wireless network connection. Videos are outstanding on my 42" LCD TV. Shipment was quick. Remember if you want to use an HDMI connection you'll need to supply your own cable if you didn't order one with the unit. Roku rocks!!!
Pros: Easy to use, Great value, High quality picture, Easy to set up, Reliability, Compact, Built in Wi-Fi
Cons: No onoff switch

For me, the wireless feature on the HD model made it a snap to set up. Plugged in the power cord, then the HDMI cable to the TV's 2nd HDMI port. Logged on to Netflix and entered the code. Done! I'm using it in the living room and definitely will get one for the bedroom.
Pros: Great value, Easy to set up, Easy to use, High quality picture, Compact, Built in Wi-Fi
Cons: Want more video choices

Plain & Simple: It Works

Great for streaming Netflix and Pandora for films and music, respectively. Simple to set up, although rather skimpy instruction sheet that's included may be a bit too simple -- a bit more on troubleshooting and setting up when wireless has security protection would be better. • Netflix movie search is a bit truncated, due to on-screen format -- it's better to set up your playing queue on the Web. • Pub-D-Hub another great free alternative. • YouTube private channel also provides another good source, although Roku won't do anything to enhance poor-quality postings.
Pros: Easy to use, Great value, Easy to set up, Built in Wi-Fi
Cons: Instructions too simple

I like to watch old Carol Burnett clips and classic tv options on youtube. You can do that if you add youtube as a channel. Netflix works great on here! I do have a fast router and a pretty fast internet service so that helps me get the best quality picture. Roku gives you the best of having a premium channel with the advantage of watching it when you want, pausing it and continuing at any time in the future. You can fast forward, rewind and do searches as well. The sound works flawlessly. I know we don't get Hulu but I never used it much even on my computer so it's no great loss. I now wonder how we got by without it.
Pros: High quality picture, Great value, Video selection, Works well with netflix, You can add channels, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use, Compact, Easy to set up, Reliability

I realize the unit draws very little power from the grid but 100,000 of these gadgets are using fossil fuel when not in use. Make 'em a little greener by adding a cheap on/off switch!
Pros: Easy to use, Easy to set up, Built in Wi-Fi, More top movies please, Compact, Great value, Reliability, High quality picture
Cons: Needs onoff swtich, Want more video choices

Does exactly what it should

I love, love, love my Rokus (one in the living room one in the bedroom). They have, in conjunction with Netflix allowed me to stop paying for over-priced, view-on-their-schedule cable. The device and software is simple, with no fluff or dress-up. It does exactly what it is supposed to, no more, no less. I have one that is hard-wired to the modem and one that is wireless and there is no perceviable performance difference. My only gripe is that the set-top is a lightweight, so stiff cords can shove it around.
Pros: Asthetically appealing, Reliability, Great value, High quality picture, Compact, Built in Wi-Fi, Simple design, Easy to set up, Easy to use
Cons: Too light weight-wise

Linking Roku to NetFlix Needs Help
on January 11, 2011

Set-up assumes that you have simultaneous internet access for both the computer and/or Roku. When Roku issues an access code, you are required to enter the access code into NetFlix using a computer. We only have one connection in our house and on our DSL modem. Luckily I had a smart phone and was able to enter the access code into NetFlix using that method. It was really frustrating having to figure out an option.
Pros: High quality picture, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use, Compact
Cons: Difficult to set up

Good Innovation. Works well! Might be beneficial to have a power button so it won't freeze up. But overall, great!
Pros: Compact, Easy to set up, Easy to use, Great value, Built in Wi-Fi, High quality picture
Cons: Sometimes freezes up, Want more video choices, Inconsistent performance
