Enjoy high quality video. Too many religion channels. Netflix works just fine. Specialty channels made easy to find. Cache gets filled and I have to pull the power plug when choices get slow, but then it runs just fine once it reboots. Limited memory on my original unit. But works flawlessly and spend most of my television time on ROKU.

I bought this as an experiment in ditching cable. I already had the Apple TV but it is very limited compared to the Roku. In fact, the Roku has exceeded my expectations. The kids love it and after a few weeks they have not used the cable channels at all. I have Netflix and already have Amazon Prime so they have plenty of options. Even with the Netflix subscription and Amazon Prime I expect to save $500 a year on TV. The Roku 3 also has the wonderful feature of the headphones cutting out the audio on the TV. This means I don't have to listen to TV I'm not watching, which means the TV is less annoying to those in the family that aren't watching. We haven't even begun to explore the mass of channels that can be had for free or at a small monthly cost. This is the ala carte cable solution that removes the 'bundles' the cable providers force us into buying even though we have to receive a load of channels we don't watch. My 7-year old told me that she loves Roku because she can watch what she wants when she wants to. My older daughter can watch what she wants on Netflix off her computer. My only concern about the product is a lack of good parental controls. I have a 7-year-old and a 14-year-old and would like to be able to restrict what they watch to be age-appropriate. Once Roku has this nailed I would not hesitate to recommend this to everyone - even families with small children.
