The player was a gift and has been used mainly to run Netflix and Hulu but other channels are used on occasion (Crackle, TED Talks). The player is great to use most of the time but has had difficulty maintaining connection with WiFi signal and occasionally requires reboot which is not the fastest process. Unless it is unplugged when not in use it is always on and judging by how warm the unit is even when not in use must consume a considerable amount of power.
Pros: Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to set up, Compact
Cons: No power switch, Remote Lacks Tactile Feel, Inconsistent performance

The roku is a perfect replacement to my cable service. A one time payment and I can stream many free channels and netflix is but a fraction of the cable cost. Roku streams perfectly and the channel choices are awesome
