I love it. Just having the options of watching T V without commercials is incredible. I hate to use the term Awesome because it is smo over used. I cannot believe the difference in watching Netflix over a blue ray player and watching over roku

I just wanted something to play media files from my NAS for the kids. The Roku can't do this unless I sign up for some 3rd party service or dedicate a computer to act as a server and install 3rd party software on the computer. I have a NeoTV box that needs a wired connection and has a slow interface that does this. I was hoping the Roku would be an improvement. Looks like I should return the Roku for a second NeoTV.

Cons: Difficult to set up, Want more video choices, Can't Play Nas Media, Requires credit card

I was glad that we could still purchase a factory reburbished 2 XS model as none — not one — of the current models fit our needs, i.e., composite video and ethernet. We watch Roku channels, mostly Netflix and PubDHub, nightly. We have a nice 27" Trinitron and I have no intention of replacing it until it dies. I'm 62 years old. My parents watched their 1957 black & white Magnavox well into the 1970s. The iMac I'm typing on right now is a Late 2006 Core2 Duo. I like stuff that just works. I don't care if it's a couple years old. Hey, my Chevy 1/2 ton is a 2002. It's paid for. It runs great.

As a Technical Support person with my own company, I assist users with their entertainment equipment. Smart TV's are becoming more popular and not everyone has the funds to continually update their equipment. I find that the Roku 2 and Roku 3 can give that Smart TV enhancement to older TV's and Flat Screens that do not have the Smart Features. Roku 3 Bridges the Smart TV Gap for my HDMI TV.
