The player appears as a wireless network on other devices, but cannot be accessed. Perhaps the right application would resolve this. Set up very easy. Customer service is excellent. Picture quality as compared to Dish or Directv has yet to be determined.
Pros: Easy to set up, Video selection, Easy to use, Built in Wi-Fi, Compact
I love that it has a USB port for external drive use. However, the Roku 3 doesn't support the very old format AVI, which should come standard on all players that support external drives. The only thing that I could see that would create some frustration is that set-up REQUIRES that you provide a credit card and theres no way around that unless you call customer service and they'll create an account for you without needing a credit card, this took about 5 minutes to complete. Not bad at all. Also, the remote doesn't have a physical keyboard, something I wish it did have. You can download the Roku app and use the keyboard on the app but going back and forth between devices is a bit of a hassle.
Pros: Compact, Great value, Great Streaming Player, Reliability, Easy to use, Built in Wi-Fi, High quality picture
Cons: Credit card required, Doesn't support AVI, No power off button, Difficult to set up
A small quibble with the new remote. The OK button is now below the arrow keys rather than in the middle. I'll adjust, but its a bit annoying right now.
Pros: Reliability, High quality picture, Easy to use, Compact, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to set up, Great value
Great list of channels. But still a lot missing. Great list of private channels (you can Google for them). However, too many paid subscriptions needed. Device often freeze when doing too many fast forwarding (not sure if that the video stream or the device). Often times, a reboot is required to fix it. Overall, I'm satisfy with them (I have two).
Pros: Easy to set up, Easy to use, Great customer service, Got Hbogo, Compact
Cons: No Maxgo, Need fast internet service, No Showtime, Want more video choices, Inconsistent performance
