very easy to use, however it did take me a considerable amount of time for set up.
Pros: Great value, Reliability, Video selection, Easy to use, Compact, Built in Wi-Fi, High quality picture
Cons: Difficult to set up

My Roku Player saves gas!

The Roku Player does everything it was advertised to do and even saves gas! With live videos streaming into my living room, I need to drive the 15 miles to the video store far less often. Bravo!
Pros: Great value, Built in Wi-Fi, Video selection, Compact, Easy to use, High quality picture, Easy to set up

Since getting the Roku XD players I have gotten rid of my cable bill saving 4180 a month... The Roku is so easy to use all of my children can use it ages 5-13 without help. For me the only con is I would like to use Cinema Now and it is not currently offered. other than that this is the easiest and most reliable streaming device I have used... I have read some other reviews and the chief complaints that I saw were had to do with playback... If you have high speed intenet I.E 7 meg or higher you won't have any problems. If you have less streming problems can occur. Also if you have a cheap router for your wireless the problema won't be the Roku they wilkl be the router

I use this Roku player to stream Hulu Plus. SOmetimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It seems anytime I'm done using it, in order for me to get it working correctly again I have to unplug it, reset my whole internet connection, and reboot the device. If it does work, it often studders through playing and like tonight, I've been trying for 45 minutes to watch a single show, and it's still not working. To try and work with tech support, you only get generic answers and it seems the last thing they want to do is replace the unit. I'm EXTREMELY unhappy with this product. It's the most unreliable thing I've ever had to deal with. They need to go back to the drawing board on this thing.

Cons: Inconsistent performance
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have my Roku XD in my living room connected to my HD TV for my primary TV. It is on a 3MB DSL wireless network and I use a HDMI cabe to my TV. The picture and sound are EXCELLENT with no waiting for a long buffer time. I am a Netflix member and the selection of instant movies is awesome and growing everyday. Plus, there are loads of other channels you can get for your Roku that you will find in the Channel Store on your Roku and a lot of them are free! All in all...the Roku player is the best value in entertainment and the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I am in awe of how many options are available on the channel store. This streamlines all of my many entertainment things - I will now get the most out of my Pandora, netflix, hulu plus, and even amazon video on demand - plus there are even MORE ways to get free video. After my amazon prime purchase, I can spend $20 a month (netflix + hulu plus) and, thanks to Roku, I will have more home entertainment than I know what to do with. Incredible!
