its junk and its keeps wanting to load while u watch a movie reset it and it worked now its doing it again if they were fair people they would send me another box i am about ready to smash it up

Cons: Inconsistent performance

Good option for TV

Had to call roku to set up. If you have problems, try this: turn on cable modem, THEN turn on router, THEN plug in roku. If I didn't start everything up in that order, it wouldn't work. Liked the free channel options-always being updagted. Had problems with cable modem resetting (not roku's problem, but if you don't have good inernet service, forget it). Also CANNOT use roku without remote control. There are no buttons on the box, so if you lose the remote or don't have batteries on hand to replace the remote, you can't use roku. They need to add buttons to the box, AND it would be nice if you could congtrol the box from your computer by logging into your account. Roku is good overall, but it has some room for improvement.
Pros: Easy to use, Built in Wi-Fi, High quality picture, Compact
Cons: Can't use without remote, Need fast internet service, Difficult to set up

When there is nothing on TV my wife and I watch movies or TV shows. Streaming is a great thing.

Works Great with GBTV

I bought the Roku to subscribe to GBTV and latest fix is good as High Definition Cable. Also works the same with Amazon Prime. There are a lot of choices you cannot find on cable or satellite
Pros: Video selection, Compact, Easy to use, High quality picture, Easy to set up, Great value, Perfect on HDTV, Perfect for GBTV, Built in Wi-Fi
Cons: Needs better menu

netflix subtitles

So far we have only used it for Netflix movies with subtitles. We both have hearing problems so the subtitles are necessary. I;m not sure if this is a Roku or Netflix problem. When the yellow subtitles are against a light colored background, they are impossible to read. An option of white on black bars would help a lot. Thank You

Should come with a service disc to check problems and connectivity issues when they happen. Sites on internet to improve service and issues.

I'm so glad I've found Roku. I use it all the time. Finally, getting some of my favorite programing(English mysteries & detective stories,and classics)and good programs for the grandchildren. Just wish there was an easier way to see what's available on Netflix & Amazon without going thru the search process.
