Nice player for a secondary TV

I recommend the Roku often to family & friends because of how easy it is to use. The interface is straight forward and they have many excellent channels to choose from. It's so nice to have so many quality programs to choose from.
Pros: Great value, Compact, High quality picture, Easy to use, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to set up, Reliability, Video selection
Cons: Can't add many channels, No closed captioning

Great when wifi works

I have multiple Roku players, but the wifi works for a couple of months then it just quits. Support is a long and tedious process with outsourced support staff. Support runs you through a 1hr and half process to determine you need replacement unit. Received new unit. Wireless work for 6weeks than stopped, again. Went out and purchase Apple TV instead of going through support process again. I prefer the Roku, but the wifi is unreliable, so I would recomend a LAN connection. I don't want to deal with the excessive support touble shooting again.
Pros: Video selection, Easy to use, High quality picture, Easy to set up
Cons: Inconsistent performance

It Sucks

After having to call support it finally booted. Then it got stuck in a loop,press play & it wanted to return to start-up page! Roku needs to work out a lot of bugs.
Cons: Difficult to use, Inconsistent performance, Difficult to set up

Now I'm upset

When I first got this I was disappointed to find that I could not get any subtitles when watching Netflix. I just went from disappointed to downright upset because 2 months after shelling out [$] for this one, NOW Roku comes out with a "new" version that DOES support subtitles. I can't afford another [$] and I'm beyond my return period.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: No subtitles
