Took it back, for more than one reason

Was going to connect this unit to a bedroom TV that does not have HDMI inputs (an older 20" standard TV) for streaming movies and shows. Would not connect to my WAP using it's inherent WPA Personal TKIP security settings (provided by my internet provider). Other wireless devices including a Samsung Bluray player with WiFi have no issues. Temporarily moved my WAP to the same room, made no difference. Hardwired with a Cat5 LAN cable to run updates, to see if this is an issue that had been resolved since that firmware version. Updates would not complete without registering. Registration required a Credit Card or PayPal billing info, 'just in case' I ever buy anything from Roku's store. At that point I boxed the thing back up (without completing the registration process) and returned it to the store... bought the aforementioned Samsung bluray player and it's over-priced WiFi adapter. No company should EVER ask for billing/payment info to hang on to for their records... only at the point of sale. And at that time, saving the customer's info should be at the customer's sole discretion.
Pros: Built in Wi-Fi, Compact
Cons: Inconsistent performance, Difficult to set up
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very happy with my Roku

I enjoy watching Netflix and Hulu plus and Pandora and a lot of the free channels. It's ten times better than cable or satellite.
Pros: Compact, Easy to set up, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use, Great value
Cons: Want more video choices, Remote is temperamental

I subscribed to Netflix and if you watch 2 movies a month, it pays for itself. Use through WiFi, and have had no trouble with reception. Only drawback, and it may be my setup, but I have not been able to connect to my surround stereo system.
Pros: Easy to set up, Built in Wi-Fi, Great value, High quality picture
Cons: Want more video choices

This product has really helped us. Before buying it the family couldn't watch TV together. Everyone watched in their own rooms on their own computers. Our satellite service was always down(we could watch 1 channel out of about 220). Thanks Roxu.
Pros: Easy to use, Great value, Easy to set up
Cons: Want more video choices, Need fast internet service

I use this product for both of my main TV's. Both the one in my bedroom, and my children's in the living room.

Great Streaming device

Just wish it was easier to stream from my home PC to the Roku player. And the formats it can stream are limited. There is a channel called RoxsBox that can stream from your PC, but you have to setup a local server on ur PC to hook up with ur media library. It takes a few steps and I haven't even tried it yet cause it seems like a pain.
Pros: Great value, Easy to set up, High quality picture, Compact, Built in Wi-Fi, Video selection, Easy to use, Great interface
Cons: Can't easy stream off PC

I have it hooked to my primary TV, works as it says, no issues. It needs built in personal media streaming capability, I use Play-On with it and it works well but most other devices offer this built in.
Pros: Great value, Built in Wi-Fi, Compact, Video selection, Easy to use, Easy to set up, High quality picture, Reliability
Cons: Needs media streaming, Want more video choices, Doesn't power off
