Roku 2 doesn't support PlayOn software

We recently purchased a Roku 2 XS and it is wonderful. Everything works great except that it doesn't support the PlayOn software which would enable us to view nearly anything that we would normally watch through our computer (specifically, regular Hulu). The previous version of Roku supported this software but the newest version does not. A major step backward! I hope that the Roku developers fix this bug soon.

Nice product. I'm having sound quality issues where the volume levels seem to vary during streaming. Trying to figure out problem. Also one could benefit from the availability of subtitles. Otherwise, very basic and easy to use.
Pros: Easy to set up, Compact, Great value, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use
Cons: Want more video choices, Sound quality issues

We are very impressed with the Roku XD box & service so far. We had a lot of difficulty with set up because the Roku was not reading our home network signal very well. After about 2 hours of tweaking things, it finally just resolved itself as magically as it started. Roku tech support was not very useful in troubleshooting. Tech support person spoke very poor English (very difficult to understand and he did not comprehend English very well either since I had to repeat questions multiple times to get an appropriate answer). Hopefully we will not have to deal with Tech Support again!
Pros: High quality picture, Compact, Video selection, Reliability, Great value
Cons: Difficult to set up

Love my ROKU XD player!

ROKU enables me to watch what I want (from a very large selection), and when I want without flipping thru channels. Love the feature that allows pre-selection or queuing what you want to watch at a later date.
Pros: Easy to set up, Easy to use, Reliability, Compact, Video selection, High quality picture, Great value

It worked great for almost a year, the last 2 weeks I have had trouble streaming. The 1st peerson I called Saturday was friendly & helpful, my subsequent calls Saturday were terrible, I couldn't understand them & they wouldn't listen to me(kept interupting) very frustrating. Today I got the best tech, she was very helpful & walked me right thru process & stayed until complete.
Pros: Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use, Great value, High quality picture, Easy to set up, Compact
Cons: Inconsistent performance

I was contemplating purchasing the Apple TV, but I wanted the versatility to move the box between more than one TV. Where the Apple TV has only HDMI outputs, the Roku XD has multiple outputs for a variety of applications with older TVs. I am still experimenting with to Roku XD, and have not had a chance to watch it very much yet, but I have enjoyed what I have watched so far.
Pros: Compact, Easy to use, Built in Wi-Fi, Great value, Easy to set up
Cons: Need fast internet service
