We bought this primary to stream Netflix but have found that Pandora and the NewsCast channels get a lot of use also. Very easy to set up for anyone with basic computer skills. We use via WiFi and have had no lag issues. HD looks good on our HD TV. I would rebuy this every day. We bought this rather than paying extra for an internet ready TV. The Roku box is far more cost effective. I do not see an NFL channel and that is my only concern. MLB and NHL channels are there.

Cons: Want more video choices

I enjoy being able to watch good quality television when I want to and not when the networks have my favorite shows scheduled. I also enjoy having a great selection of programs in a rural area where we don't have local stations.

I had read many reviews that seemed to indicated that if I hooked up a Roku that wasn't within 20 feet of my wi-fi router, I would be asking for problems -- it wouldn't connect or the connection would be sketchy and intermittent at best. This kept me from getting one for months until I decided that if it didn't work, I'd try moving the router closer. If it still didn't work, I'd send it back to amazon for a full refund. I needn't have worried at all. My router is downstairs and in a back room from the Roku upstairs in a front room, way more than 20 feet. In spite of that, setup was a breeze, everything worked perfectly the first time. I had no problems at all. I also did not buy special HDMI cables. I was prepared to if necessary, but the red, yellow, white cables that came with the Roku work just fine, and I was watching HD movies streamed from amazon right away. I have the $7.99/mo streaming package from Netflix, and that's pretty much all I watch (unless I score free movie credits on amazon). There are so many TV series I can't wait to catch up on. The Roku with Netflix is perfect for that! If I ever do get a smaller TV in my bedroom, I will get another Roku for that. And the Roku is so small, much smaller than I was expecting. I can barely see it on the shelf under our 42" panel TV. But it has no problem reading the remote signal from across a big room.
