Great Player, but some issues

This is a great device, I have dropped my Dish Network service and only use Roku. The main issue I have is that it either reboots or freezes often. Besides that I really like it and will probably be ordering another one soon for the gameroom
Pros: Compact, Easy to set up, Easy to use, High quality picture, Built in Wi-Fi, Great value
Cons: Inconsistent performance, Freezes, Reboots

Absolutely worth the money

I was on the fence regarding whether or not to completely dump cable and needed to select a streaming device with enough versatility to facilitate my decision. I decided to go with Roku XD and it fits nicely into my home theater. The device is much smaller than I anticipated and the clarity is superb. We have plenty of viewing choices, but I would like to see more for kids and some Philippine entertainment for my wife. I will definitely add another Roku XD to my collection now. If you are having doubts about the devices usefulness, they are most definitely unwarranted in my humble opinion.

Cons: Want more video choices

My new favorite streaming media player

Netflix video quality is a bit better than AppleTV but the available content makes this a no-brainer. Would like to see an easier to use channel layout but my Roku XD is my go to box for streaming video.
Pros: Easy to set up, Compact, Easy to use, High quality picture, Built in Wi-Fi
Cons: Commands lag, Can't customize layout, Ad in homescreen

XD Player very good value for the money

[...] I found this little device to be EXTREMELY easy to setup. My wife, who is not a techy person at all, also loves this thing and found it very easy to use. We have NetFlix and Amazon accounts. But we found the Crackle channel one of the best. We just love the Roku interface. I do wish the interface was a little more consistent from channel to channel.

Unable to purchase remote at retail loc

Very disappointed that replacement remote controls are only available for purchase online! Local retailers that stock ROKU should also carry additional remotes!! Purchasing a new and a spare adds up to an additional $25 cost. Cancelled my cable and now after days of searching under cushions and numerous phone calls to retailers to find out I cannot buy an extra remote, I must now wait, wait, still waiting for remote to be delivered!
Cons: Lacking parental controls, Want more video choices, Where's my Netflix queue

Works great after a few setup issues

Once setup the device works great. I have a dual band Apple router and the device would not connect to Guest network. Called Roku support (very good service) and was advised to use Main Network. This solved the problem.Product consistently works well.
Pros: Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use, Reliability, Compact, Great value, High quality picture
Cons: Remote a little clunky, Minor setup issues
