Roku sucks.

I am stunned at how poor Roku product service is. My Roku box has been unable to stream Netflix for a week. The people at Netflix tell me this is a known issue and that Roku has a fix. Really? They can't fix my box. I can stream movies from Netflix to every other device I have... desktop computers, laptop computers, netbooks... EVERYTHING but that piece of junk Roku box. Don't waste your money. [...]
Cons: Inconsistent performance

If you have Netflix, you'll want this

I use this box with my HDTV and I have Comcast cable internet running at about 10 Mbps and a Netgear WNDR3400 wireless dual-band router. The Roku box sits about 8 feet from the router. I frequently notice while watching videos from Netflix that the video quality will start in HD, but somewhere along the way it will stop (sometimes several times) and continue in lower quality. This could be an interference problem as there seems to be another Netgear router operating in my neighborhood. I highly recommend upgrading to the XDS player to take advantage of the higher frequency from the router, as just about everything wireless is running on 2.4 Ghz these days.
Pros: Easy to use, Great value, Built in Wi-Fi, High quality picture, Easy to set up, Video selection, Compact
Cons: Inconsistent performance, Need fast internet service

Product constantly goes out and says no Internet connection when there is a connection. If there wasn't a connection I wouldn't be able to get on my iPad. I shouldnt have to coninuely call for tech help unplug and reregister the product.

My new cable box, love it and hate it
on June 21, 2011

Got this almost a year ago and it just sat in its box until I moved and the cable company said it was gonna be 2 weeks until they could set me up. Set this up and cancelled my cable. Literally everything that's on TV and more even has channels with local news if your into that. I mostly use netflix for my movies and hulu for TV which ends up being about 14 bucks a month instead of whatever 50 or 60 bucks for cable/satellite. Set ups pretty simple WiFi works great with no lag at all while im running the roku player, ps3 online, and using my laptop on a 10g connection, and with the WiFi version you don't have to run a ugly Ethernet cable across your room. And the picture quality is alot better than I expected it to be! COMPLAINTS: The remote sucks!!! You have to practically be right in front of the box to get it to work, usually have to press the button multiple times after you find the ''sweet spot'' and there's no controls on the actual box so if you're like me and lose your remote often your screwed. Also the navigation through the channels is very slow and can only be viewed one by one which is frustrating! So besides the remote and the interface the thing rules just hope they improve it in the next version
Pros: Video selection, Compact, Easy to set up, Built in Wi-Fi, High quality picture
Cons: Slow channel navigation, No controls on box, Remotes range is horrible
