With the XD vs. the HD model(we have 1 of each) the picture quality is better for the 1080p user. Still, you need a better/faster internet speed for streaming and downloading so there's no sound-lag time. Both the XD and HD model are nice but we still needed our security password to be re-entered for internet a few times and loading can occasionally take up to a minute or two.
Pros: Video selection, Easy to use, High quality picture, Compact, Great value, Reliability, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to set up
Cons: Need fast internet service

I use it rarely to watch Indian TV news. It is good to have a switch to turn it off when not in use. Otherwise it consumes power (though little)all the time.
Pros: Easy to use, Great value, Compact, Built in Wi-Fi
Cons: Need a switch to turn off, Want more video choices, Difficult to set up

The product is okay, but the services you can subscribe to are all lacking. In another few years, this might be a much more viable concept, when Netflix or Hulu Plus actually can offer everything a cable company can offer.

Disappointed So Far

I wanted to use the product to watch movies. I am greatly disappointed in the selections that are offered. I was hoping to have access to recent, quality movies but have discovered those are not offered. The Roku player itself is working satisfactorily but I feel that I wasted $80+ dollars for nothing.
Pros: High quality picture
Cons: Want more video choices

The ROKU XD box works great and as advertised. Was a little doubtful it would perform but I was pleasantly surprised.

i have roku xd thinking iwas going to get 1080p in image dont happend all the movies are proyected in 720p or less i hate it.

I have a Sony Blu Ray player that doesn't have built-in wifi so i'd have to connect a superlong eye-sore of a ethernet cable everytime i wanted to watch Hulu and Netfilx, even THEN the connection was SO slow and buffering took forever! Enter the Roku XD and now i can watch Hulu Plus uninterrupted without spending most of my time waiting for the program to buffer and load! This is SO much better. My only complaint is that might have to pay for apps that came free with the my blu-ray player, I'm not sure but i'll have to check. I suppose it's a small price to pay for a smooth streaming process - something i didn't have until now! Yay Roku!!!
