I was watching Netflix on my computer until I learned about Roku. I read the reviews and thought I'd give it a try. I am very pleased now that I can watch from the comfort of my recliner on my 46" HDTV. I would recommend this product.
Pros: Reliability, Compact, Video selection, Easy to set up, High quality picture, Easy to use, Great value, Built in Wi-Fi

After finally buying an HDTV, we figured we might want some entertainment options, besides over-the-air TV (``time- shifted'' via MythTV) and a stack of DVDs, so we splurged and bought ourselves a Roku box for our birthdays and sub- scribed to Netflix' streaming-only service, and it's been a cinch to set up and dial up a ton of movies we've been meaning to watch, in addition to being able to dial up a random episode of whatever television serial from the many series compilations in Netflix' streaming catalog, and it's been the coolest, most trouble-free thing ever since

Although Roku doesn't do anything more than I get by unplugging my laptop, placing it next to the TV, plugging it back in, hooking up the HDMI cable, waking it up, finding the web site.... You get the picture. Roku is up and running with a single push of the button. So easy that I got a second for the other TV. Yes, I have talked friends into getting their own.

We purchased the Roku XD to enjoy streaming Netflix to our primary TV. It has been about 5 days since we installed the device. We do not have cable or satellite TV - too busy to watch it all. BUT we love movies and documentaries when we have time. I had a problem with the online account setup with Roku as the online form had no labels! I used the chat feature and Thomas was very helpful - got our account set up from their end and in 20 minutes we were watching Netflix! We use the HDMI cable and everything we have watched looks and sounds great! As others have said, some evenings it takes a little extra time to retrieve the media from Netflix, but I imagine they will work on that with the feedback they get. All in all VERY happy so far.
Pros: Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use, High quality picture, Great value
Cons: Difficult to set up

Box works flawlessly with HDMI hookup to HDMI ready flat screen TV. We use it every night. Would like more free TV channel choices, and if we could get a full alphabetical sort that would be great. We have Comcast's 1MBS internet, so sort of slow, but only now and then do we get buffering reload, which is usually 20 - 30 seconds, far less than 2 - 3 minutes of commercials on broadcast TV

Cons: Alphabetize channel list, Want more video choices

The audio portion will sometimes get out of sync with the video. Pausing & restarting will fix the problem. No local channel availability is a minor annoyance. Canceling my $85.00 a month satellite TV bill is a BIG PLUS!! Between Netflix & Hulu plus, we find plenty of good shows & movies to watch! My TV bill is now $17.99 a month!
