You won't need Cable TV anymore!

Our basic cable bill crept up to over $50/month. After buying the Roku we will likely only pay for Netflix (although we're still considering Hulu Plus) It is a perfect choice for the single user (or couples who do everything together), the only snag is that it really slows down our kids simultaneous computer usage (this may not be true if you have faster DSL than we do)
Pros: Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to set up, Easy to use, High quality picture, Great value, Compact
Cons: No simultaneous wi-fi use, Need fast internet service

If you're going to get Roku, you might as well get the XD, it's not that much more, and extends wireless range. I've only had Roku for about a month, but no problems. Really like it.
Pros: Easy to set up
Cons: Need fast internet service

In Love with this Little Black Box!

Got this for Christmas and, it was extremely simple to set up (once I figured out that it had to get plugged directly into my router for firmware upgrade). Other than that, this little black box just might be taking over my cable company! With the channel store, you have 100s of choices, and you can also google private channels, adding even more hours of fun! My only complaint about this product is it loses internet connection from time to time, even though it's less than 10 feet from my router, and is getting perfect signal.
Pros: Great value, High quality picture, Compact, Easy to use, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to set up
Cons: Inconsistent performance

I'm a 68 year old non-technophile. I needed my kids to set up my computer and wireless router but I could set up the ROKU XD by myself. They weren't even in the house.

"Awesome machine with cool capabilities"

Wasn't sure if I should buy a Roku or not. I debated about it for some time. I used to have my TV, computer, and speaker system set up in my entertainment center using the Windows Media system. I could watch streaming Netflix via the computer using the Windows Media remote control, access movies I had stored on my computer hard drive, view my pc information using my TV as the monitor, etc. I wasn't so sure what advantages or differences a Roku would give me or conveniences I would see. I have had Netflix for years and often have problems when streaming movies due to slow internet connections, especially using my laptop. Now that I have the Roku, the number of issues I've have had has dropped enormously. The few problems I have had have corrected themselved within a couple minutes. They have been annoying, but as opposed to how they've been in the past, these issues are minor. I used to be interrupted in the middle or movies and have to turn them off, unable to watch anything for the rest of the night because the communication was bad.

Cons: Need fast internet service, Sometimes drops singal
