With Supports help, Works great

First of all everytime I wanted to use Roku I needed to reboot my router or I couldn't get a internet connection. Support had me change the primary & secondary DNS numbers on my router. Then it connected great, but watching netflix it reloaded every couple of minutes. Then they had me do about 6 other things, still the same problem. until one Tech had me update the firmware for my router, I did that & its been working perfect ever since.My Router had 1996 firmware. There Support via E-Mail was great, always got back to me within a couple of hours.
Pros: Great value, Compact

Lots of value in a tiny package

I don't take time to watch TV unless I really want to watch a particular show or movie; ROKU let's me pick & choose at my convenience so I can optimize my viewing time.
Pros: High quality picture, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use, Compact, Video selection, Easy to set up, Broadens viewing options, Great value

Excellent Alterntive to "On Demand"

My husband and I enjoy old movies and a few old TV series. It is a great way to access these quickly and easily. We do hope that eventually it will be more cable box user friendly. While it is not terribly difficult to set up, for a couple of novices it was a true "challenge".
Pros: Video selection, High quality picture, Compact, Reliability

I bought a Roku player for myself and my parents as a Christmas gift. They eliminated Comcast cable and used the Roku box to stream shows via Hulu & Netflix.

A Very Sound Product - Good Support

handshake problem

This device would be great except that it has a fundamental "handshake" flaw using the HDMI connection. If we use an alternate HDMI device on our tv, or turn the tv off, for more than 30 minutes we get a green screen when trying to re-open the Roku HDMI port. The only way to get the TV to understand the ROKU is there is to unplug/re-plug the HDMI cable. This should not happen. When I contacted Roku customer service the only response I got to this problem was that it looked like I "solved the problem" by unplugging and re-plugging the device every time I want to use it. Yeah, thanks...that's not solving the problem with your device. Other than this annoying issue the device works well.

Cons: Inconsistent performance

The Perfect Christmas Gift!

We use the product to watch movies. We are old. We are retired. It is simple to use! My son has one, gave us one for Christmas. We were hooked on it immediately! We have not explored all of the abilities of the unit, too busy watching old movies and TV series. Thank you for the unit. We are sorry we cannot use the unit in the camper. Note: What does Roku stand for?
