I got rid of my cable and dish programs as they were getting to high price. I now use antena and roku for my tv watching
Pros: High quality picture, Compact, Easy to use, Reliability, Great value, Easy to set up, Built in Wi-Fi, Video selection
Cons: Want more video choices

High Speed Internet caution!

Roku claims to need high speed Internet. This is true. But beware! You need 'Elite' high speed. 3.0 to 3.5 as told me by Roku customer service after the fact. During the very easy setup for wireless, on screen instructions indicated I had an excellent signal. But my 2.6MBps would not support streaming through Roku XD. Either with HDMI or the RCA cables. This vital higher speed information would have been helpful if included in the Roku product details.
Pros: Easy to set up, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use, Compact
Cons: Need faster than hi speed, Must have 30 to 35MBps
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Simple and Elegant

The Roku is simple and elegant. It was easy to set up and just as easy to use. I would like to be able to attach an external wifi antenna to improve reception, but the Roku design does not allow that. I think it would be a great addition to future models.Instead I had to make adjustments in my home wifi set up. I never had issues with laptops and other wireless devices, even when streaming multimedia content, but the Roku just had more issues staying connected. After moving one of the access points in my house, Roku no longer has problems. I have recommended Roku to numerous friends. Everyone who sees it thinks its great!

Changed the way we watch rented movies!

I needed to get used to the "progress bar" during movie queueing, and once in awhile, the progress bar would re-appear a few minutes into the film. This might be my router's problem. I do have hi-speed internet. I would really like some way to use a wireless keyboard with Roku. Searching with the remote is cumbersome.

Had to acquire a different router as Roku couldn't connect to Internet with original. Fringe TV signal since digital takeover. I wish broadcast networks would allow non-premium streaming, even with commercials if necessary just so we could get it. Would also like live streaming news like CNN. I look forward to streaming my photo albums via one of your channels.
Pros: Compact, Easy to use, Great value, Reliability, High quality picture, Adding content daily
Cons: Want more video choices, Must use wireless, Foreign support staff

this is my second Roku box, upgraded to go with my new TV... I love the simplicity and it always works...love it!!!

We are happy with the Roku. It is compact and sits on top of our TV. We have it set up in the living room and the wireless router is in the bedroom. Sometimes the unit has to reset itself for loss of signal, but it only happened a few times. I would recommend this unit. I had one problem with setup from my mistake, but customer support walked me through the setup and it's been good since. We purchased it to watch Netflex movies. We are happy customers!
