If you have Netflix, Roku is a must!

This is a must for anybody with a Netflix subscription. The HDMI cable capability and wireless-N set this apart from other devices like the Wii. Roku offers more great video services other than Netflix, and of these I like the NewsCaster and Flixter the most. The XD model was easy to set up and use. The only problems I've had in the first month of use is that it froze twice and I had to "reboot" it by unplugging its AC adapter cable and replugging it. Otherwise, it has given great service.
Pros: Compact, High quality picture, Easy to use, Great value, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to set up, Video selection
Cons: Inconsistent performance

I got the Roku on the recommendation of a friend and I've been very pleased with the ease of use. I'm mainly a Netflix user but I've explored some of the other channels available and been impressed with the breadth of content available - Baeble Music is particularly cool with whole concerts available. I'm almost always able to get HD streaming from Netflix. I did have the box lock up during setup and needed to reset it to factory defaults to fix the problem, but have had no problems since then. More complete documentation would have been helpful to explain the setup process. Helpful to have a laptop with you since there is a lot of back and forth required to register the Roku with Netflix, Amazon, etc. Only HuluPlus is supported, but I don't think this is Roku's fault. Once it's up and running, the user interface is very simple and easy to use. The compact form is also very nice. Take advantage of the HDMI cable option when you purchase. I've cancelled my cable premium movie packages since I'm always watching the Roku now. I'm glad I chose Roku over a BlueRay player. Would have been 5 stars except for the setup problem I experienced.
Pros: Compact, Easy to use, Great value, Reliability, Built in Wi-Fi, Video selection, High quality picture
Cons: Setup problems

Roku Rocks

I love my Roku box, I look forward to new channels and adding a little fun to my cable and maybe even getting rid of it later and just doing Roku. It would be nice to have a power button and component outputs in the back because my TV only has two HDMI inputs but I can deal with that and the more expensive Roku does have component but works great without a hitch and I tell everyone about Roku.
Pros: Easy to use, Compact, Built in Wi-Fi, Lot's of extras, High quality picture, Easy to set up
Cons: No power button stays on, No component video
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent box design. Easy setup. Extensive content available. Requires solid, fast network/internet connection for reliable operation although the system will attempt to correct or adjust picture quality for download. User menu could be improved/optimized. It is very simple and "spartan" at this point. High Def (5.1) Sound alternatively achievable going HDMI to TV then newer TV to Home Theatre receiver.
Pros: Great value, Easy to set up, High quality picture, Compact
Cons: Need fast internet service, Inconsistent performance, Want more video choices
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was never able to get the wireless connection to work, but the device does very well with an HDMI cable. The picture quality is great and the service reliable, but outside of Netflix and Amazon ( and probably Hulu, though I don't subscribe)the video offerings are poor and not worth watching. There needs to be more quality offerings.
Pros: High quality picture, Compact, Easy to use
Cons: Want more video choices, Difficult to set up
