Good Value - w/High speed Internet

I bought the unit primarily to access Netflix, but also use Pandora and sometimes the news channels. Generally, setup is fairly easy, though the 'double' set up for Netflix and Pandora are bit of a nuisance. Unlike a previous Roku unit, this one has had no problems staying connected to my home Wi-Fi. Video quality (even on HD) is good, but not terrific. I suspect that is at least partly because my internet speed is borderline (4MPS) for HD. And, the video selection on Netflix is still limited. Not a lot of recent, popular titles. But, there is a large collection of generally less available fare - we are particularly pleased w/the selection of documentaries (nature, technical, and biographical). I find the Roku search features limited at best. Much better to do your Netflix searches from computer and add to your queue there. Overall a good value and a useful addition to our entertainment options.
Pros: Great value, Built in Wi-Fi, Compact
Cons: Need fast internet service, Want more video choices

There should be a simple way to connect WIRELESSLY. I just gave up, bought a 20 foot cable and decided to just enjoy the Roku for what it could do, not what it seemed incapable of achieving.
Pros: High quality picture, Video selection, Easy to use, Compact, Reliability
Cons: Want more video choices, Difficult to set up
I would recommend this to a friend!

Roku ROCKS!

Currently use the unit in the bedroom and it is GREAT! The remote is simple to use in the dark. The box is unobtrusive (tiny, quiet, and low-power). Amazon is what you get for premium movies, would rather have Vudu, but Amazon is OK. Hulu and Netflix work well too. Probably watch more Netflix than anything else and the HD streams look great on the 50" plasma. Had no problems setting the unit up. It has built-in wifi, but I run it direct-connect to a wireless HD bridge. Zero network problems with the device. It just works and works great!
Pros: Easy to set up, Compact, Easy to use, High quality picture, Reliability, Simple remote, Great value

Didn't read close enough, and didn't realize it did not come with a component output. Had to change some things. Initially, had a lot of problems coming up and staying up. I don't think I changed anything, but seems pretty reliable now.
Pros: Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use, High quality picture, Great value, Compact
Cons: Difficult to set up, Inconsistent performance

Roku is the future of Television!

My husband and I have used a Roku for two years now and we would never go back to cable TV. We recently bought our second Roku and have one for our primary TV and secondary TV. In the first year that we used Roku we used it along with cable. However, after the first year we realized that we never used anything but the Roku channels. So, we dropped cable and used an antenna for local live channels (which we still hardly use) and use the Roku for all of our movie and tv watching. We are also amazed by all of the new additions to channels on the Roku, Almost weekly we find a new channel to try and use. At first we only used Netflix, but are now using Hulu Plus, Roku Newscaster, Mediafly, Amazon Digital, and even used the Christmas Yule Log channel this past Holiday season. I also must add that the picture and sound quality is great, we use an HDMI cable with both Roku boxes and it looks and sounds lovely. My husband and I have saved so much money by switching to the Roku and love it more every day. we'll never go back to using anything else.
Pros: Reliability, Video selection, High quality picture, Great value, Easy to set up, Compact, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use

Love Roku! I've heard great things about the Roku but my wife was skeptical. Bought one used from a friend. After 2 days my wife said, "how did we live without this! Let's get one for every room!" Only complaint is I wish there were more selections and my internet speed isn't fast enough for Hulu. We now have one in the Living room and one in the bedroom!
Pros: Great value, Built in Wi-Fi, Compact, Reliability, High quality picture, Easy to set up, Easy to use
Cons: Want more video choices, Need fast internet service
