Great Support Staff At Roku!

Since we are not good at technology, we have relied on the staff at Roku to assist us. They really know their stuff and are very friendly and courteous which means a lot to us.
Pros: Easy to use, Great value, Compact, Easy to set up
Cons: Inconsistent performance

I am completely satisfied with the Roku XD. The only drawback I found was that a wireless connection, in my setup, could be troublesome on rare occasions. I feel that issue is with my internet router and not the Roku, but would highly recommend a hard-wire setup. Picture quality is excellent, especially in 1080. I would highly recommend this product as an addition to anyone's entertainment system.
Pros: Reliability, Great value, Easy to set up, Video selection, Compact, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use, High quality picture

Has to restart/reload/re-retrieve every time it's not been used for at least a few hours. Too many movies are interrupted by reloads. Love how it memorizes where you left off on last viewing. LOVE the new seven second review button. WHEN ARE WE GETTING SUBTITLES?!?!?!
Pros: Easy to use, Video selection, High quality picture, Great value, Easy to set up
Cons: Want more video choices, Inconsistent performance

aluminum foil! use it

got for my parents for xmas, hooked up fine and fast, dropped signal but showed full bars for sig strenghth, fyi parents had b/g router. placed a piece of aluminum foil under the roku box and it didnt drop signal but once in a week compaired to every few minutes. reently have upgraded to wireless n 300gb transfer rate and no drops, fyi i have also removed the aluminum foil. so works good with wireless N routers, and for troubleshooting purposes the roku was only abour 30 ft away

Cons: Need fast internet service

PS3 out performs XD

As I download movies from Netflix for instant viewing I have noticed a big performance difference between running them through my ROKU HD and my Sony PS3. On my last 2 movies I have started with my ROKU HD and it lost the signal several times during the movies. I would turn off the ROKU and use my Sony PS3 and it never lost connection. Both devices are within 1 foot of each other. Apparently, the PS3 is better at maintaining signal. Remember, I only use Netflix and could care less about other channels.[...] Also, I had the older ROKU and thought by upgrading to the HD it would fix my problem. It didn't.

We can watch a movie whenever we want without having to worry about whether we got one in the mail. We don't watch a lot of TV but this has been wonderful. We only bought the higher model because it was on sale although we're glad we did. The extra features, (instant replay, etc.) are convenient[...]set up quick and on screen display very easy.

Easy to setup! Within 15 minutes, we had it connected and registered with the various websites, like Netflix, and started watching movies. DO not need to know anything about computers or have different cables lying around. I canceled my HBO and premium satellite subscriptions because now I can surf netflix, hulu, etc and have a better selection to choose from
