Get the XDS instead

I love the player and got it so that my mother would have easy access to Netflix. Setup, playback, and navigation are a breeze. My only real complaint is that the audio outputs are not independent of the video outputs. I wanted to use HDMI for video but run the audio out of the left and right composite audio outputs so that I would have audio going directly into my sound system. This is not possible because if you are using HDMI, the audio will only go through the HDMI, thus requiring you to use the TV's built-in speakers, which is a shame if you have a home sound system. This may not be a problem if your TV has the capability to output all of its audio sources to an external sound system, but not all televisions have this capability and not all of those that do have an easy way to set this up. The XDS has these capabilities, plus more, making this product somewhat pointless.

I had more trouble getting the router set up than the Roku, but the Roku help line was great at helping me. I'm not that savvy with electronics but I managed to get it all set up finally. I like the quickness of having a movie anytime I want one.

After setting up, which took a while for me,(being a senior)nd the fact that Roku is not available on Sunday, everything fell into place!It is immediate.

My husband is handicapped and can't do too much so movie watching is important to him. We both love Netflix and Roku made it all possible. Thank you Roku.
