Totally Simplified My Setup

I canceled cable a few months ago. I was using my laptop connected to my HDTV via an s-video cable. Frankly, it was a pain to get up and surf to all the different websites out there to find the programming I wanted. The picture quality just wasn't very good either. Not to mention, it was clunky and ugly sitting next to my TV. I was seriously considering going back to cable. Then I came across the Roku. Because of the price, I decided to try it and so glad I did. I have it connected to my main TV in our living room. Very easy to set up and much smaller than what I was expecting. We hardly notice it next to the TV. Best of all, with Netflix and Hulu Plus, it's quick and easy to find stuff to watch. We really love it! In fact, I bought 2 more and sent them as gifts for Christmas.
Pros: Easy to use, High quality picture, Compact, Built in Wi-Fi, Great value, Easy to set up
Cons: Want more video choices

No More Cable!

Got rid of cable because it cost almost $200 a month. Got the Roku XD from Best Buy for my daughter's room. She is only five, can not read that well yet and can easily go between netflix, hulu and pandora. Its great and she has never said anything about missing any of her shows. Plus she doesn't watch commercials and ask for every toy she sees!!!
Pros: Great value, Built in Wi-Fi, Reliability, Easy to set up, Easy to use, Compact

Am going to need a trip to electronics store so that I can still have my dvd player connected to the tv. Not sure how to set up tv to get local channels. Very excited to be able to cancel my cable!

Great Purchase

My new Roku is great for streaming Netflix videos.I also buy or rent additional videos from Amazon, wich is also super easy to do when Netflix doesn't have what I want. I am now considering whether to cancel my Netflix DVD delivery service because this is so convenient.

Great little device

I purchased this to see if it would replace DirecTiVo. This with a Netflix subscription, it worked so well, I bought a second Roku within a week. I haven't been this impressed with an electronic device since TiVo came out. No more $80 a month for satellite. My only regret is that I wish I had bought this sooner!
Pros: Great value, Wireless w easy setup, Excellent picture quality, Easy to set up, High quality picture, Easy to use, Replaced DirecTv, Compact, Small very unobtrusive, Reliability
Cons: No skip forward, No closed captioning

not worth money cant use with 1080i tv

cant get to use 1080i with hdmi cable called tech support was on hold for over 45 mins hung up this sucks cause i like 1080 i picture and sound

The product is great and does what it say's it can do.The problem is with our Satellite service (Wildblue). I am paying top dollar for their service and can only watch a few movies per month, then I am out of Bandwidth.IF you are going to watch a lot of movies per month, I feel you need an Unlimited Use WiFi Provider. Out in the Rural Area your at the will of the Provider

Cons: Problem with Internet Sev, Need fast internet service

The Roku product is excellent. Netflix has to be convinced to place all videos on instant play. Many movies I want to watch are ADD only. Therefore, my choices of movies are very limited if I want to watch them instantly.
