I use my Roku XD player in the bedroom because it is so compact and easy to use,it dosen't take up much space on top of the dresser where the T.V.sits. Its like having all the conforts of a five star Hotel.
Pros: Easy to set up, Compact, Easy to use, Reliability, High quality picture, Great value, Video selection, Built in Wi-Fi

A great back up product for those who would like more control of their own programming. You have limited choices with standard cable television but these little units allow a variety of program options to complement your interests.The video quality is unmatched even by cable standards.The only draw back is I wish there were a few more catagories with additional movies to choose from.
Pros: Easy to use, Easy to set up, Great value, High quality picture, Built in Wi-Fi
Cons: Need fast internet service, Want more video choices

should be independent of computer.to many indian programs.would be nice to be able to follow dolly parton around from at hame.she is still very hot. i had to transfer all commands from little remote to a very powerful universal remote.it works much better now.having to subscribe and pay to get a program is a bummer.throw some more xxx programs on it to make it really interesting.

Beware Green Screen of Death

Worked great for a while, then encounted this "Green Screen of Death" issue which has been discussed it seems for a while in the Roku forum. My t.v. is a 2010 model hdtv 40". The roku box is a bargain and I guess it's now a case of "you get what you pay for". I'm sorry I recommended it to a relative and won't be recommending it again.
Pros: Compact, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to set up
Cons: Green Screen of Death, Inconsistent performance
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Continue to add choices, HULU Plus is far too incomplete. Netflix works because of English TV shows, new movides are slow to arrive. Would like an option to queue the whole show to eliminate pauses.

Great for Netflix-never have to wait for DVDs in the mail. I no longer have cable and this is a perfect substitution. Easy to setup and I move it from TV to TV without any problems but will eventually purchase a second one for the bedroom. I've had a few issues with [...] VOD but that isn't Roku's fault. I hope that HULU Plus will be able to offer more choices in the future but the current selection is fine for now.
