The setup would have been rated as a pro and for the most part was easy, but it didn't work. Chatted with support and discovered the problem was actually the MAC filter channel needed to be changed on my router. Thank goodness for the support person. They deserve a raise!
Pros: Video selection, Easy to use, Built in Wi-Fi, Reliability, Compact, High quality picture, Great value
Cons: Difficult to set up

I love my Roku XD media players! I gave up on streaming from a Blu-Ray player because the picture was terrible. I purchased the Rokus and was delighted at how much better the picture was--nearly as good as a DVD or Blu-Ray disc played on a Blu-Ray player! The movies also load very quickly, even using the wireless set up on the player too far from the router to use an ethernet cable.
Pros: Reliability, High quality picture, Easy to set up, Video selection, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use, Great value, Compact
Cons: Want more video choices

Roku XD Player with Netflix

I have really enjoyed the Roku player. I like to watch "old" movies and have great tv reception. My power was out for days because of bad weather and Roku was available immediately when my power was restored. I hope it doesn't change because I am really enjoying the availability of movies from Netflix and the technology of Roku. Both are perfect for me.

Bad Support

The product I have is a Roku XR and not one of the ones I was given to rate since these are the new models. I bought my XR and then found out 2 weeks later that Roku was selling a new model with enhanced wireless cpapability, which is critical to me. When I called to return mine and get a new model replacement I was told it was the Roku policy not to do that. That is very bad customer support.
Pros: Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to set up, Compact, Reliability
Cons: Obsolete within 2 weeks

green screen every time

When it is running, we are able to stream netflix movies flawlessly in HD to our flat screen. Unfortunately, every time you switch to the Roku input on our TV you get a solid green screen and have to power cycle the Roku box to get a picture. Apparently this is a problem with HDMI handshaking and copy protection. If you check the Roku forums, this problem has persisted for years with Roku boxes, yet they still have not provided a solution.
Pros: Built in Wi-Fi, Compact, Easy to use, Easy to set up
Cons: Green screen over hdmi

There are issues with dropping wireless connection and with overheating. Too many times, we have to power cycle to get it past getting hung up.

Unreliable technical performance

Worked fine for about three weeks then failed to connect to local network. After unplugging unit for 6 hours rebooted but then failed to load my selected Netflix show and now unable to connect again. My other wireless devices (computer,printer, etc.)are working perfectly. Wrote to customer service but no reply as yet.
Pros: Video selection, Compact
Cons: Inconsistent performance, Difficult to use
