Little brother of XDS delivers

I first bought an XDS. My wife and I bought it for Netflix, but when we discovered how good the music selection was, we decided to buy the XD for casual viewing but more so for the music. It is a great box and I didn't care about it not having the dual band since it is not the primary unit. But we liked the music so much we canceled our satellite radio subscription figuring the XD would pay for itself within three months. Can't beat that and the fact that there is no extra fee for extra Roku units in one house. Were even thinking of another for the bedroom!
Pros: Easy to set up, Reliability, High quality picture, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use, Compact, Video selection, Great value

If you have a hi-speed internet connection you just have to get a Roku player. The Netflix "play-now" movies are so much more convenient than HBO....and a lot less expensive, at $7.95/month. The Roku player provides the best audio/video entertainment value on the market.....I've just ordered a second Roku player as a gift for a friend.

Was introduced to streaming video when I purchased a Samsung Blu-ray player earlier this year. This got me hooked on streaming Netflix and Pandora. I was ready to buy a second player so I could stream movies to my home theater setup downstairs when a nice fellow I had recently met (he is a great watch repairer!) mentioned Roku. Based on his recommendation and what I read online, I decided to purchase the extended range version (the distance between my wireless and the Roku box is about 50 feet) and I have not been disappointed. Simple to install and set up. Extremely reliable ... always have a good strong connection ... and the Netflix user interface is much better than the one on my Samsung (although this is probably more of a function of the software upgrade schedules.) If you looking for a simple solution to stream Netflix (which in my opinion is best service value out there) or Pandora (great for music)...and even if you are interested in some of the other channels like Hulu Plus, etc., you can't go wrong with Roku. I just purchased several more to give as gifts.
Pros: Easy to set up, Reliability, Easy to use, Best way to get Netfix

I love my Roku!! I got mine last week and loved it so much that I bought my ex-wife one [that's how happy it made me] :) Netflix Streaming is A+ and I almost cried when I found the Soma FM channel - They are, in my opinion, the best streaming public radio station in the world. If you love alternative music, ambient, techno etc then you will have the most awesome music on the block. Their *Indie Pop* station is awesome to discover new music, unlike satellite radio that plays the same rotation over and over and over.... meh The only downside, and it has ZERO to do with Roku: Hulu Plus should be renamed to Hulu Minus: They DONT stream all the cool things that you want to see. I am grateful for the free month but Hulu Plus has 28 days to show me WHY I should spend any money on them at all. I will cut them some slack as this is a new service, but C'mon! Every show I wanted to see on my HDTV was ONLY available over the web to PC etc. #FAIL Buy the Roku !! Everyone should have one. And, if you are smart like me, move your internet and router into your entertainment center and cable Ethernet direct into the Roku unit. Old TV? Not to worry, as long as you have RCA audio and a video inputs the picture quality was amazing. I can confirm this as I installed my ex-wifes last night on a smallish 27" tube. Give yourself or someone a Roku. Value. Quality I love it !!

This little box is so easy to set up and use. I use it every day. My wife can even figure out how to use it (unlike our VCR). We use a 3MBps DSL connection that proves sufficient for standard definition TV. Can watch streaming video and web surf on our computer at the same time.

Cut the cord! Packaging my Roku box with wireless from my cell phone provider has allowed me to finally break free from the evils of the Cable Company. The MLB and NHL packages are just the icing on the cake.
