NHL GameCenter Rocks on Roku!!!

NHL GameCenter in HDTV on a Roku is many times superior to mainly SDTV on NHL Center Ice
Pros: Compact, High quality picture, Easy to set up, Easy to use, Great value
Cons: Want more video choices

Got the Roku for both my parents and my in-laws. They both love it! We got them Netflix and that has been the main use. My parents love the channels that are avaiable and in-laws really enjoy the music stations like Pandora. We only had one issue setting up the Roku for the in-laws. It worked briefly with no issues using wireless router. But within an hour they had some connectivity issues. The router was upstairs and the Roku was down stairs. Even when the router was moved to the lower level the connection was still not strong enough. We ended up having to hard wire the internet to the Roku to get it to work correctly. I dont believe it to be a Roku issue, but more of a internet issue. My parents are in their 70's and they find the Roku very easy to use. It's definately was a great gift for them.

Cons: Inconsistent performance

Good start - needs work

This product is a substitute for Cable. However, some of the show episodes on MY D@#$ CHANNEL do not work eg on Cooking with Coolio and Horrible People, the shows kept repeating the same end of one of the episodes so it has discouraged me from trying to watch more. It's a waste of time and that should not be. But I love the idea so keep trying.

Cons: Want more video choices, Inconsistent performance, Some shows won't play

Not so great

I had an HD I was very happy with. It died after 2 years. The XD was an unhappy replacement. With the exact same internet service, it will never play a half hour show all the way through and often needs to reload several times.
Pros: Compact, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to set up, Easy to use
Cons: Inconsistent performance, Need fast internet service
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a great overall device. It offers great picture quality, ease of use, ability to let you drop high priced cable or satellite TV. It loads movies slower than a laptop on the Netflix. This is the only con. In other words, if you have a laptop and a Roku, the laptop will load a Netflix film faster. Once Roku gets going, it is great. Should be a little cheaper though, it's only a wireless chip receiver. Overall, I recommend it. Watching a movie on Roku is great.
