Surprisingly Good!

Very surprised how well the Roku streams - and my signal is pretty low at my TV/Roku. I have had it about a month now and I can only recall one "burp" where it had to buffer during a movie. Super simple to set up and use (though I haven't tried to connect to a pc yet - not sure that is as simple as playing Netflix. Great product for the money.
Pros: High quality picture, Reliability, Easy to set up, Great value, Compact, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use
Cons: Want more video choices

So Easy To Use, My Mother Can Do It!

I use Roku more than I use my cable and DVR. I loved it so much that I instantly got rid of the DVDs from Netflix and went to online only and I love that I can now watch all of my Amazon VOD tv series on the 42" HD television instead of my laptop. It was so easy to set up and use, I bought one for my parents for Christmas. Then, the cable guys asked me to show them how to set it up when they upgraded my digital cable. The only downsides have been that there is no Hulu channel, only Hulu Plus; there is no way to access the web so I can access broadcasting television channels such as FX or the CW, which air their t.v. shows online on their websites, but not on Hulu. Roku does not have a channel to allow you to access your computer or network so you can watch videos through your computer, whether on the harddrive or from the DVD drive, which means that when licensing causes Amazon VOD only allow you to view already purchased VOD only from your computer and no longer online, you will no longer be able to use the Roku service to watch your already purchased videos. There is also no way to watch videos purchased through iTunes. Hopefully, these cons will be resolved in the future.

Mainly we watch Netflix and MLB TV. I love the access to all the stuff all the time. Sometimes the system Jambs late on Friday Nights -possibly because of all the use, but other than that it has always worked on demand.

Got this as a gift and also had given 2 as gifts as well. They weren't as easy to setup as what I had thought. (And I did set up all 4 roku devices at 2 diff. locations) Getting it to connect to the local network seemed to be the challenge. Did have to contact Roku support (I suggest just calling, much more polite, and you get the results you want as opposed to using the online chat feature). However, the setup issues were with router settings (some had to change) not with Roku device. After setting up 1 and getting things set where they needed to be the rest were easy and quick. So far everyone loves it. Very easy to use and lots of selection. Primary use is netflix. Very easy to link to netflix just have to enter code to register device. Loads momentarily and have had no play back issues.
Pros: Built in Wi-Fi, Great value, Compact, Easy to use
Cons: Set up can be challenge

Great way to beat the high cost of cable

I had some trouble at setup....for some reason it didn't want to connect to the Internet, but for some reason it did and has been working great ever since. Also, it took awhile for it to get all the software update, eventhough I have a fast Internet connection. Just be very patient....it's well worth the wait!! Going to get another one soon!! Gotta love the wireless feature and the HD!
