I know I have half a dozen other devices that can do what the roku does but none of them does it like the roku does. The iphone screen is too small and video output is only 720. The xbox is too loud. My bluray player is wifi READY but for the price of an adapter than would make any of these devices better, I bought the roku. It's AMAZING for Hulu+ and Netflix along with Newscaster and a few other channels.
Pros: Compact, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use, Reliability, High quality picture, Easy to set up, Video selection, Great value
Cons: No nfl

Rarely am able to get HD for longer than a few minutes. Then it re-buffers and the quality suffers. Had more buffering issues recently than did with the OLD Roku. Why the heck did I upgrade, so I can watch 15 minutes of HD at time??? Particularly disgusted with anything from NBC. Watching Olbermann or Rachel Maddow, it ALWAYS stops roughly 1/2 way through, restarts with NO AUDIO, and if I try to get back to where I was, it begins at the beginning-usually with the same problem. Essentially the non-netflix channels are problematic.
Pros: Easy to set up, User friendly, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use
Cons: Inconsistent performance
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We use our Roku with our primary television and we are much happier with our choices than we were with cable. We do subscribe to Netflix, but all other channels we have added are free. It was exteremly easy to set up, as well.
Pros: Reliability, Compact, High quality picture, Easy to use, Easy to set up, Great value, Built in Wi-Fi, Video selection
Cons: Want more video choices

Love this Player

For the price, you can't beat it! I don't use my cable connection in the Bedroom anymore now that I have the Roku. There is so much programming available (especially since Hulu was added). I could not be more pleased with this purchase.

My second Roku player - Very pleased with enhancements added. 8 second rewind is great! I selected the ROKU over other Netflix devices as I don't play video games and don't rent Blu Ray DVD's. Perfect value. On screen menu made set up easy. College Football season is nearly over - needed something to watch for the next 9 months!

The product needs very high apeed

It looks good but needs very high internet speed and cant be used on DSL, I have returned and waiting for the return of money.

No more using my netbook

My wife and I purchased this because we were tired of watching Netflix on our Netbook. The Roku was all I could hope for. Very easy to set up. I love the controller and how quickly it loads a show. It's faster changing from show to show than my dvd player is to switch movies. The only thing that Roku could do to improve this player is to improve its connectivity. It seems to have a problem every couple of days finding an internet connection. As a result it can't connect to netflix server for a little while. I would think that it is my router, but I have no issues connecting my netbook or other computer in the same room to network. It's only a minor annoyance. The player is outstanding, my only wish is that there was more content available for streaming. I know that this is in the hands of the networks and not Roku. This works way better than streaming Netflix through my Bluray player. I love the fact that I can search for shows through the Roku, instead of having to first load them in my queue from my computer. For anyone that likes to stream movies I would recommend this product all day long.
