IMPROVED MOVIE STREAMING

As above, after the effort of getting the high speed internet to a realy high speed, we have a good picture. The remote is much tto small for either my wife or me to use in spelling out a desired movie. All butons would be much better if two times the size.

lots of shortcomings but easy to use

we enjoy high quality images on big screens (46" lcd tv and 105" projector)for movies and gaming and the roku video quality just isn't there even with 10Meg internet. the "hd" video from netflix is ok, but not as good as dvd player component video and much poorer quality than blu-ray. it's ok for our 36" tv, but everything else is pixelated. netflix has lots of movies but you have to queue them online first or spend lots of time on the ruko searching by typed title names to find something to watch. on the plus side, the roku is small and wireless so it's easy to move to the kids room, outside, etc. as long as you have a strong router signal and it plays on both hdmi and composite video/stereo audio input devices.
Pros: Plays smoothly, Sets up quickly
Cons: Fast internet a must, Not much besides netflix, Hd is not really hd, Forget big screens

Don't bother if you already own AppleTV

I already own AppleTV for viewing video rentals and NetFlix streaming. I purchased the Roku XD to view HuluPlus video. Unfortunately, the number of shows eligible to be watched on the Roku is extremely limited. I would not recommend purchasing this product for Hulu use until their catalog is expanded.
Pros: Compact, High quality picture, Built in Wi-Fi, Easy to use
Cons: Difficult to set up, Hulu
