Wait for upgrades that work

Loads shows slow or not at all. seems to have most diffaculty with Netflix.
Cons: Need fast internet service

Great Box difficult wireless

Everything about this Player is great. The only problem I've had with all three units is they don't like to connect to the wireless system on the initial set-up. Once it is set up it doesn't seem to have any issues, it's just that initial connection.
Pros: Built in Wi-Fi, Video selection, Reliability, High quality picture, Great value, Easy to use, Compact

I use Roku for Hulu Plus, Netflix, Racefans.tv and Pub-D-Hub which is a great provider of public domain movies, television and other material.
Pros: Great value, Easy to use, Easy to set up, Compact, Reliability, High quality picture

What a concept -- a device that literally takes seconds to "install", and works with a simple, 8-button remote. Why can't everything be like my Roku? Great picture quality, great choices and options for channels -- we cut our cable TV cord and haven't looked back. There's ALWAYS something on with Roku!

I mostly use the roku for netflix. Most of the other services are overpriced or poorly executed. Hulu "plus" is a joke. Pandora is ok. There needs to be a simple way to play media on a local network share. The setup SHOULD have been easy but my XD shipped with a buggy firmware and immediately performed a buggy upgrade. I checked the internet and learned that connecting it to a wired ethernet would get it through the upgrade so this only took me about 20 minutes, but some people have struggled with it for days. I've worked in software quality assurance for more than 10 years and this is the sort of issue that should never make it out the door to a customer. The 'fabric' tag is stupid. If it weren't as stiff as a credit card it might be less annoying, but especially on the remote it is scratchy and hard and stupid. What on earth were the designers thinking?! Get rid of it! Also, the pale white LED on the old models was classier and easier on the eyes than the purple LED on the new models.

A pleasure to be able to watch Netflix movies in the living room instead of on the computer in the back room. Also like the selection of other channels.
