Very easy set up, and were able to be watching our first movie after about 10 minutes from netflix. Now we just need to subscribe to hulu and amazon streaming and we'll be all set!

Replaced my cable

I purchased the XD for my bedroom as a replacement box for cable. I use a PS3 for my primary tv. Setup was simple, though mildly time consuming after selecting channels and entering user account data for my various services. Picture quality is excellent, and unit has been very reliable. Only a few freeze ups in the past month. Only complaint is the lack of a power button. Would like to have the ability to power down at will. Content selection is good as long as you have both Netflix AND Hulu Plus subscriptions. Using these subscriptions, PlayOn's streaming service(a private channel on Roku), and a HD antenna, I have cancelled my cable and not regretted it one bit. Recommended for anyone who wants to cut the cord, or for anyone who wants Netflix/Hulu Plus streaming on the cheap.

Cons: No onoff switch

Works Great

The instructions and setup are very straight forward and easy, except when a problem arises. My problem was the clock time. The time was wrong (7 hours off) and it prohibited me from completing the setup. The customer support person was next to worthless. For a good half hour he kept telling me to do things with the setup screen which were not options. Ignoring what I kept telling him.Finally after a good half-hour he said he had to talk to someone else. This ultimately resolved the problem. For some reason my wireless router time was incorrect. That's the time showing on the screen. All I had to do was reset my router.Baddah Bim Baddah Boom. That was it. It then proceeded through the setup flawlessly

Very easy to set-up and use device. Hierarchical menu structure is easy to understand and simple to navigate. High-quality output, even using regular DSL. With excellent bang-for-the-buck, it is a surprisingly good product in a sea of mediocre, over-priced technocrud. What a delight it is to buy a product that is inexpensive, works as advertised, and is so easy to use! Wow!
