Great, especially for the price

I do wish the channels included Youtube and that there were a display on the box saying how many minutes into the video you are. Otherwise it is excellent! Most of my troubles are related to my wireless network, not the Roku.
Pros: Compact, Easy to use, Easy to set up, High quality picture, Built in Wi-Fi, Great value
Cons: Want more video choices

A great product

We have it in our bedroom to watch netflix instantly a lot better then trying to watch it on a laptop. We love movies and it has tv shows old ones along with some newer shows. It has other channels besides netflix but most of them cost [$] a episode that can add up fast. You can watch movies from amazon and they are cheaper than satellite rental fees. Overall we are glad we got it and would purchase it again. Very easy to set up. We have a older tv so we just got a converter box. Very easy to work.It does freeze up sometimes but not for long. I have to admit I thought along time before I order it and my husband was really skeptical but he loves it and like I said before we would buy it again.
Pros: High quality picture, Easy to use, Built in Wi-Fi, Compact, Great in rural areas, Easy to set up, Great value
Cons: Sometimes it freezes up, Want more video choices, Inconsistent performance

Good Player but needs more

The roku XD player is a small but very capable player with great picture quality. The channel menu is just ok. This is where the Roku players could really shine: if they have the best channel/app selection and quality than others why would people flock to this? Think about allowing the end user to customize the way he/she sees the channel menu. Have the highest quality weather, news, sports, entertainment apps (accuweathe/weather channel, USA Today, ESPN, VUDU, etc.) Think QUALITY not quantity.
Pros: Excellent Video Quality, Compact, Easy to use
Cons: Want more video choices, Channel choice quality, No onoff switch

Had a competing product. This is simple to use and far superior and affordable. Bought it for Netflix. No regrets!

Borderline Good/Great

It's a great little device. I just wish i could stream music and video from my Mac. I'll probably eventually replace it with an Apple TV for that reason. The only reason i got it instead was because of the rca connections in the back for my old SD tv in the bedroom. It is a worthy competitor, but doesn't quite do everything I need. The UI could be prettier too. I use it mainly for Netflix though, so it's definitely worth the money to me. I'm not blown away, but definitly not disappointed.

Not for DSL

I paid extra for the XD. I figured that I would get 1080p even if it took longer to load and buffer. If I had realized that the videos would digitize on a regular basis AND that I would never see full HD (720p is the best I get)) I would have settled for the HD unit. If you have DSL I recommend the basic, least expensive, unit.
Pros: Compact, Easy to set up, Built in Wi-Fi
Cons: Inconsistent performance, Need fast internet service, Want more video choices
