Pretty Good Product

Product was super easy to set up so that was great. However, I was really disappointed to find that many of the movies don't have closed captions. I know the technology is out there because movies watched on my PC have them--so does Hulu and YouTube. Roku is supposed to have it in 2010 but here we are in October and it's virtually impossible to find a movie on Roku with captions. Had I known this I would not have purchased it since I am hearing impaired.
Pros: Easy to set up, Easy to use, Compact, Great value, Built in Wi-Fi
Cons: Want more video choices, No closed captioning
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great for streaming netflix when it works. The signal gets interrupted often on wireless, even with changing the router channels. I plan on getting an ethernet cable and trying out this thing that way. You have to practically put the wireless router in front of this thing for the best reception.
Pros: Built in Wi-Fi, High quality picture, Compact, Video selection
Cons: Difficult to set up, Inconsistent performance
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don't care for cable, satellite, or broadcast TV because you must watch what they choose when they choose or have and set up relatively more expensive and complicated dvr devices to record it. The Roku appliance makes watching what you choose when you choose simple, economical, and unobtrusive without having to maintain a library of content yourself like must be done with any dvr. I also like the fact that it runs on top of Linux which makes it reliable and fast. The one caveat I would call attention to is that, if you want to enjoy HD on the Roku, make sure your Internet connection has sufficient bandwidth and does not suffer from latency issues before purchasing it for that reason.
Pros: Reliability, High quality picture, Easy to use, Great value, Easy to set up, Video selection, Built in Wi-Fi, Compact
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Roku was a little tricky to set up at first because my existing router didn't cut the mustard. After I got over the initial frustration, I bought a new router with N capability. Once that was set up, the Roku worked like a charm. It's so much fun to be able to watch instant Netflix right on my television instead of my PC. I get a lot more out of my Netflix subscription now. The remote control is really slick, similar in feel to an iPod wheel. However, I don't find the instant replay button that effective. It only rewinds back a few seconds and normally I want to rewind back a little further...like when you didn't quite hear an actor's line. I intend to get another Roku for my other television, but I will simply get the HD...I don't think the instant replay is worth another $20. The other viewing and listening choices besides Netflix are interesting to browse through, but nothing I spend a lot of time in. Once Hulu is available...that's where it's at. Hurry Hulu!
Pros: Compact, Built in Wi-Fi, High quality picture, Easy to use
Cons: Want more video choices

There are other ways to get internet content but this is by fare the easiest andmost complete.I have internet ready blue ray players and internet ready tvs but I prefer using the Roku box for it's speed and ease of use. The remote is a breeze. Once in awhile I have to reset the box and/or the router but it's not very often. Anyway, I highly recommend a Roku box.
Pros: Reliability, Easy to set up, Video selection, Easy to use, Compact, High quality picture, Great value, Built in Wi-Fi
