Really LOVE the Roku!

Really LOVE the Roku, we have completely revamped our viewing habits since we began using it. It does drop the signal once in a great while (hooked in through the Ethernet with Comcast Broadband), always picks up wight where it happened without any input from us. We will probably purchase a second for the bedroom.
Pros: High quality picture, Great value, Easy to use, Easy to set up

I use primarily Netflix and Roku Newscaster. I hope it will show MLB baseball games reliably, but we haven't tried it yet.
Pros: High quality picture, Easy to use, Easy to set up, Great value, Built in Wi-Fi, Compact, Reliability

I use the Roku currently in the family room and since getting it we have watched a variety of movies which has been great. I wish that the movies could be streamed to other tv's throughout the house. This is a definite drawback to the ROKU. My DISH has the main box in the family room but does stream whatever you are watching to all TV's in the house as long as they are set for channel 3 which is the channel the DISH comes in on. It would be great if the ROKU could be used in the same manner versus having to buy one for each tv set.
Pros: Has been reliable, Pretty solid value, Tech help was great, Easy to operate, Nice access to many movie, Fairly Easy to Set Up
Cons: Need fast internet service, Want more video choices, Required some tech help

We use the product instead of cable TV. We don't like paying for lots of awful, profane[...]hateful,degrading content on cable or dish, and don't find much good programming on local TV. We like being able to choose which channels we want rather than being forced to pay for an expensive package of mostly junk and one or two things we like. We love the wholesome clean, amateur programming on Roku, and being able to watch Netflix TV episodes and movies instantly. I like the fact that I could take the Roku with me to a different location.

Great Hardware, Content lacking.

Initial setup was a failure until I contacted Tech Support. Unable to assign static IP to this unit, it must receive from DHCP. Unit did not want to receive IP address from my DHCP server in my wireless router. Tech support advised that hardware operates best on Wireless channel 11. I changed my router to operate on Ch. 11 and then setup was a snap. From a hardware standpoint, the RoKu works well and operates as advertised. The content of the channel offerings are mediocre at best with a few exceptions. Although I enjoy the Netflix application, you can get this content through game boxes and some newer televisions directly. I am only using this box for audio content and the occasional Netflix movie play at the moment. I look forward to better quality content in the future with a better quantity of available content.

for the price you really cant beat it. The XD costs less than a single months cable bill. we cut the cord and now just use netflix instant (which we had already) and added hulu plus. I do wish all hulu content was available on roku though, what is up with that hulu?
