I liked my first Roku, I bought a 2nd!

Both times the set up of my Roku was difficult but after hitting the reset button on the bottom of the unit a couples times things progressed smoothly. Now it's time to say goodbye to cable TV and the expense.
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Difficult to set up

Performs as promised

I just got my Roku XD and it's really great. It was very, very simple to set up and works as promised, even on a slower DSL connection (mine varies between 1.0 and 1.5mbps). I don't have an upgrade option for high speed internet because of where I live, so if you're like me and you're wondering if this thing will perform on sub 1.5mb speeds, it will. On most videos, if your bandwidth "tanks" it will quickly re-buffer the video at a lower resolution so that it won't stutter or pause a second time. Not ideal, for sure, but even at the lowest quality level it looks decent so long as you're not sitting right in front of the TV. On the second-to-lowest, it basically looks like standard-def digital cable or satellite. Above that, you get a really crystal clear picture you have to see to believe. When my DSL is operating at it's best (around 1.7mbps on a good day) I can expect this nice picture for most viewing. The only real downside to this player is that you can't just watch *anything*. This may sound obvious, but let it sink in: if you have cable or dish, you can just pick up the remote and find most any show. Can't do that here... there's a LOT, don't get me wrong, but you're not going to just say to yourself "Hey, it's a Law and Order marathon, that sounds good!". It requires a bit of adjustment to your thinking about your viewing habits. Also, you can't get your local news and other broadcast-only shows, so if you plan on ditching your cable or dish, you'll probably want to get an antenna.Oh, and you should realize the news aggregator on Roku just pulls audio and video podcasts from [@] and the like, so don't expect today's news today or anything, or a really robust offering. And while we're on the subject, Hulu or someone needs to license The Daily Show and Colbert Report. If my review sounds mostly negative, I don't mean for it to. So long as you can adapt to a different content delivery model and live without some of what you currently view, this can truly replace your cable or dish and probably save you a bundle of money. Or, if you're just a tech fan it can be a great addition to your existing TV service, especially if you like Netflix but don't have a Wii or Xbox to stream it onto your TV, or would rather have an easy-to-use set-top box rather than a game console for that purpose.
Pros: Easy to use, Built in Wi-Fi, Compact, Easy to set up, Great value
Cons: Want more video choices, Need fast internet service

This is great value, and connects to a regular television which gives me a picture quality that I like. The selection process seems antiquated and does not seem to offer all the things that I would like.
Pros: Reliability, Built in Wi-Fi, Great value, Compact, Easy to set up, Easy to use, High quality picture
Cons: Want more video choices
