I have the 50" LG plasma, and this will be my next purchase. LG products are reliable and easy to use! They really know how to engineer their products for ease of use and longlife! Buy one and you will not be sorry!

This was a great purchase for us we are sports fans and have really enjoyed the clairty and up close personal feel of this flat screen tv.sound is good and the user freindly remote helps change picture settings quick and easy..

Awesome product. Great sound and visual power. I can acutal feel I'm in the movie or show. Love the clearity, colors are brighter, great for HDMI, and Blu-ray. If your a gamer, then your really going to like this TV. As soon as you starting playing you'll never want to stop.This product made me buy more LG products than any other company. My kitchen is like LG city. It HD content is zip-lock fresh.

I am very pleased with the LG 55LK520. There are TVs that perform better than this, but I believe you need to pay several hundred dollars more. This panel display blacks as very dark over all areas of the screen. The contrast of various levels of black could be better, but compares favorably with other TVs at this price point.
Colors are very vibrant and bright. Note that the default picture setting is overly bright with the color being too `hot'. Before I took the time to fine tune the picture, I simply moved to the stock `Cinema' mode and bumped up the brightness a bit for a solid general-use picture. This display performs very well with XBox games over HDMI.
The side-viewing angle is a bit less here than other models, but is definitely adequate for my room. The matte screen has very low reflectivity so is excellent for bright rooms.
As mentioned in other reviews, there is a piece of thin red trim around the outer edge of the bezel. I don't feel this improves the appearance of the bezel, but is only noticeable from the side.
The mounting bracket supplied by my TV stand, Z-Line Vitoria Flat Panel TV Stand, blocks access to the rear component video inputs. I don't know whether this is caused by a non-standard mount, or the TV's placement of the inputs. The HDMI and VGA inputs are fully accessible.
I personally find no reason to own the gimmicks found on more expensive televisions. 3D may be cool for the rare movie that implements it nicely, but ask yourself how often are you going to want to sit around with glasses on. If you want to view internet content, buy separately a Blu-ray player or Xbox. If you simply want an excellent picture, this is a great product to consider.
