Serious Performance Issues

The Samsung UN55D7000 TV (model code: UN55D7000LFXZA, version number: H303) has been a NIGHTMARE! The biggest problem has been internet connectivity. The TV simply will not connect via Wi-Fi. It can't even get passed the first step of discovering nearby networks. When I decide to abandon the Wi-Fi and use the wired LAN, I can usually make a connection but the TV either loses the connection almost immediately, or, the throughout is so poor that apps like Netflix, HuluPlus, or the built-in web-browser die or hang as soon as I launch them. My wife and I own a desktop PC, a macbook, an X-Box 360, and a Samsung BD-D6100C Blu-ray player and none of them have problems streaming HD video from Netflix or HuluPlus via Wi-Fi and wired LAN. The TV has several other problems: the QWERTY remote frequently loses synchronization with the TV so I have to re-synch it often, several interfaces don't recognize the QWERTY remote so I have to use the arrow keys on the other side of the remote to select letters one-by-one, and the TV occasionally power-cycles itself, which is incredibly annoying when my wife and I are watching a movie. The only good thing about this TV is the picture quality. After doing some research, I found that other consumers have experienced the same problems that I have. It looks like Samsung really dropped the ball in quality on this one. The amount of money that I spent on this malfunctioning TV makes me sick to my stomach. I'd be pleased if Samsung just refunded the whole thing. I will probably never buy a Samsung TV again.
Pros: picture quality
Cons: Poor quality, internet connectivity problems, qwerty remote problems
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I had high hopes and great expectations when I ordered this TV. I love the design and the almost non-existant clear frame, and the display is crisp and sharp, but there are some issues that are disappointing me.
1. This unit came with the brightness set at 45. I found that setting didn't allow for detail when viewing dark scenes. Unfortunately raising the brightness anywhere above 50 creates terrible edge bleed. There doesn't seem to be a compromise that works to see dark details and not have edge bleed.
2. The Internet web browser is awful. It's terribly clunky and slow to load pages and video from web sites, even on my 10 Mbps download network. Hard to navigate around and find what you want.
3. AllShare will not play my mpeg4 videos from my hard drives connected to my iMac server. I can see them, but when I try to play them an error says Not Supported File Format. It shouldn't matter what kind of computer is the DLNA server if the file type is .mp4. Unfortunately, Samsung does not offer DLNA software for Macs.
So, the image is sharp and clear, but don't expect too much from it during dark scenes and it's added features like web browsing.
Pros: Lightweight, almost frameless design
Cons: too expensive
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Since i bought this tv i have had it exchanged three times due to screen issues. At first it had spots of either dark or bright colors...this is especially visible when the whole screen is either black or white. On my second exchange the screen would have blinking horizontal lines which would only go away after switching off and unplugging the set only to reappear five minutes after switching it back on. Now am on my third TV and it also has dark and bright spots on the edges but i am tired of the exchanges.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worst TV I have ever owned!

Where to start. Well, simply put this has been the worst "major" electronic purchase I have ever made. The TV performs absolutely horrible. LED TV's can suffer from many issues as a limitation of the technology. This particular Samsung model suffers from most of them.
Flash lighting: All four corners are white during blu-ray movies that are not in the same aspect ratio as the TV.
Blooming: Black screens are a cloudy mess with white blotches scattered throughout the panel.
Color Banding: colors changes should occur gradually, you should not be able to see pronounced "bands" but with this set you can.
Jutter: One of the biggest advantages of LED televisions is the "Higher Refresh Rate" this processing allows the TV to appear "crystal clear" like your on the movie set. Unfortunately, this can cause skipping or jutter in some cases if the television cannot keep up with the frames or the video content. I have to turn the "Tru Motion" off because the jutter makes everything unwatchable with this TV.
Lastly, the low light performance on the set is the worst I have ever seen. Dark scenes and shadows lack any detail whatsoever. This combined with the "blooming" makes dark movie scenes appear as if they are ALWAYS shot in a dense fog.
Every time I try to watch a move, or load up netflix, I get a sick feeling in my stomach, because of how much money I wasted on this piece of junk.
I am currently, trying to get this thing fixed, new panel is on the way. But I have read online that many people have been through 5 panels before they got one that worked properly. I'm not holding my breath in other words.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great product, I just wish it brought the plug for the external audio. The speakers on the TV are not the best but they work.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: speakers are not very loud
